A short but excellent sequel
Planet Earth was one of my first Blu-Ray purchases and a big reason to upgrade from DVD. Many years later we finally have a sequel, albeit a short one- 6 episodes plus a 10 minute segment after each video showing the behind the scenes camera work involved. I would have a hard time justifying the full retail price for that, but thanks to eBay you can pay a very reasonable sum to add these engaging, beautiful, and very unique episodes. It is not more of the same, the animals, locations, and camera work they used to produce this version are distinctly new and an absolute must see. I believe they used the RED 4K digital cameras for the filming and the detail/quality are mind blowing and Hans Zimmer delivers a powerful (although sometimes a bit overly theatrical) musical score to accompany each scene. A definite buy, a great gift, and something your children (if you have them) should watch to gain appreciation for this amazing planet and its diversity of life.Read full review

Great for nature lovers
I currently owned Planet Earth I and loved it. I bought the second part for my daughter at Christmas. It is a must have for the nature lover. The quality of the film is incredible, colors so clear and rich that one can almost feel the water. BBC knocks it out of the park as always with their nature documentaries. Read full review

A Great Gift!
