Buy Plugable with CONFIDENCE!!

Nice focus ring,smooth....excellent software, even runs other cams....gooseneck bracket is strong and high quality....gridded and scaled plate for photo subjects is bright in color but matted finish for best light control....on board LED lights are useful and have dimmer control.

This is my second Plugable product. The first was a hard drive docking station that remains a great tool.

I recommend Plugable. I think you'll agree.

You get what you pay for and I'm not complaining

5 stars because you get what you pay for. This is no top end or even mid grade device. It's a low end microscope with low end features but it does what I need it to do. There is no "zoom" feature. Zoom is you re-positioning the scope closer/further to/from what you're looking at or creating a pedestal for your item - for me it was a coin tube so the coins got right under the scopes viewing area.

It's worked for me, I've already discovered 2 double die pennies that I was previously unaware were in my collection.

The light only goes from dim to really bright. You can't turn it off and if you're viewing a coin in a proof set then your out of luck because the light reflects off of the case and it's difficult to view the coins - though not impossible.

If you're looking to spend around 35 bucks for a scope then this is the perfect one.Read full review

It works ok but the colors don't appear true to life. I tried adjusting the colors using the software but couldn't get the results I wanted. Probably not ideal for saving images where color accuracy is important. Otherwise, everything seems to work ok.Read full review

It's a good toy

No too impressed. The max picture size I could get was just over 400kb and not the stated 2mp. Even then the focus is fidgety because of having to adjust it on the camera head. It's a good toy but that's about it. You get what you pay for.Read full review

Able to see contact welds

Very good microscope! I'm in the process of building a homemade working 3 point transistor and I needed to see the emitter and collector forming of my contacts on the Germanium. This microscope showed me if the formation worked or not. Good microscope to see very small things.
