Pocahontas - Disney

We finally got to see this and were, I am afraid, sadly disappointed. First the prize-winning soundtrack is rather like a school musical production with no memorable or stirring songs. Compare 'Spirit' and 'Mulan' soundtracks which are fabulous!
Then the history is all mixed up and incorrect for no good reason - either make a good story - in which case it should be much tauter and with a better ending - or do the historical bit (which is actually pretty exciting) and have Pocahontas marrying the right guy (John Rolfe).

Finally the overdrawn figure of P. - all pointy breasts and Penthouse mag. hips - is distracting to viewers (especially the male ones) - Mulan manages to be feminine without these visual connotations.

Not sure whether we will bother with P.IIRead full review...

My eldest child when she was very small loved pocahontas so for her 15th birthday I bought her a dvd of it. She was really pleased with it and even her younger sister of 7 loved it. It brought all her childhood memories flooding back and why she enjoyed it so much. Her little sister has even learned all the song words. It is a really enjoyable and clean and just as good to watch now as the first time.Read full review...

Why i bought Pocahontas from e-bay.

It was so much easier than going to the shops and i got the dvd far cheaper than anywhere else.I think i saved £6 by shopping through e-bay.As soon as i saw the dvd on the site i bid for it and just kept checking.After a few bids extra it was mine and i'm glad i did.I've added more titles to my collection through e-bay and i've saved a fortune in cash and shoe leather!!Read full review...
