Nothing short of excellent!

I haven't seen this product on the shelves for decades, the last time I used it was back in the early 1970's whilst serving my carpentry apprenticeship.

Cascamite is the original powder resin wood glue, gap filling, weatherproof and structural wood adhesive. It is suitable for interior or exterior use and can also be used for laminating and load bearing applications.
It has many unique properties including gap filling, load bearing, non staining, clear glue line, mould resistant and doesn't stain hardwoods. It makes 50% more than its original weight when mixed with water.

This can be used on external joinery; including Windows, Doors, Garden Furniture, Gates and Boats. On internal joinery; it's ideal for Bathrooms, Kitchens, Worktops, Laminating and Veneering.

The most accurate mixing method is by weight, 2 parts Cascamite to 1 part water. Alternatively it can be mixed by volume, 3.5 measures Cascamite to 1 part cold water.

If I was the rightful owner of this product, then this review would be considered to be bias, but then again, I'm not the owner and I'm ecstatic to know that it's available to buy and use again.

Rubbish!!!!!

The cascamite I've been using for decades seems to have been replaced by white granular rubbish that takes nearly a week to set solid. What's happened to the creamy coloured smooth glue that sets almost like glass and is totally reliable? Completely unimpressed by the latest delivery and if this is it I'll never buy any more or recommend it. Feels like I've lost an old friend!Read full review

Stick with it

An excellent product that I have been using for many years under its various names (originally called Casein glue when I first used it in the 1950s). Takes some time to mix, but when done produces a fantastically strong and waterproof joint that lasts for many years, particularly for wooden garden furniture exposed to all weathers. Gap-filling and easy to clean up.

Wood glue n filler

This glue is so strong and makes a good filler, long working time and in powder form so you can mix a little or a lot would recommend it. Good for outdoor use as well.

Extremely versatile and tough woodworking glue

The powdered formulation of this glue means that it can be easily mixed with the correct proportion of water and used for both the largest and some of the very smallest woodworking projects, especially where the more conventional PVA adhesive may not be entirely appropriate for the task.Read full review

Has its place.

The advertised reasons for using Cascamite are that it is waterproof and fills gaps. I have been successful outside in the rain but waterproof PVA might be as good.
I use it to fill holes and cracks in substandard wood. You can mix glue and saw dust to make a filler. I find adding enough saw dust for a dry mix and compressing gives a good result. The colour match is not perfect, covering the filler with a thin sheet of wood is the best way. Cascamite seems a good glue for this job. Traditional pearl glue does not discolour the filler but Cascamite and PVA darken it.Read full review

Stronger than the wood itself

Brilliant wood glue which sets harder than the wood itself, takes a bit of practice to use, but once mastered, it sets with unbelievable strength. WARNING!!! Just make sure that you never want to separate the thing you glue as you will not be able too and end up destroying the item. Read full review
