Porterhouse Blue

Hardly BlueRay quality - perhaps we take for granted the picture quality on TV these days? Anyway - if you like the typical Sunday evening comedy stuff, then you will probably enjoy this. Set in Cambridge (and very entertaining to see the place as it was 20 years ago as I live there!) - the plot revolves around the clash between the old "culture" (or lack of it!) at Porterhouse (a make believe college) and the the new regime sent in to sort things out. The book is far better than the film in my opinion, but I guess that is often the case?Read full review...

Progress against tradition - winner takes all.

This is David Jason at his finest. A battle between the old establishment and the new incomer at one of Englands' premier Universities. The problems of randy students lead to general hilarity and must not be missed. Who wins? Watch and see. Excellent.Read full review...

Porterhouse blue

A must see for all David Jason fans, here he is at his best in this comedy drama about the shenanigans at a University where he is the long standing porter who knows all but normally says nothing untill he is pushed over the edge by a new Chancellor.Be prepared for many surprises as this story takes many an unexpected turn. You wont be disappointed I guarantee.Read full review...

this is what can happen when channel4 gets hold of tom sharpe and throws some money and decent location filming at it. forget the bbc adaptation of blott on the landscape. this is how it SHOULD be done. absolutely marvellous, bloody nasty and damned funny, just like the book.Read full review...

Porterhouse Blue DVD

Excellent and entertaining television. David Jason and Ian Richardson are superbly cast in their roles. I would highly recommend this. John Szepietowski

Porterhouse Blue.

Our kind of humour, enjoyed it when it came out. Bought it to watch over the Winter when there is nothing but rubbish on the T.V.
