Primus Trail Stove

Works great, have used it several times now.

The threads are a little wonky screwing the valve to the burner part, I could see someone cross threading this and destroying the threads. As long as you are careful though it is fine.Read full review

Decent stove with a few small exceptions.

This stove is larger than most. It also does not have Piezo ignition that most other, even micro-smaller stoves do. It takes a separate Piezo igniter, match or other form of fire to get it lit. If you adjust the flame too low by accident, break out your matches. If a gust of wind comes up, break out the matches, repeat the process as necessary until meal is cooked.... The gas control valve is TINY and gets disconnected from the burner for storage. A great idea, right? Until it falls out of the storage bag somewhere in your backpack.... Or somewhere along the trail. Or on the ground, in the dirt! Primus could definitely spend a small amount of time perfecting this stove to include more modern technology.

On the plus side, it cooks like a REAL stove. The burner is GIANT by comparison to other stoves. It gets hot faster than others I have tried. AND it has some of the sturdiest pot/pan supports out there! Too bad they are not collapsible like most others. Again, a redesign is needed.

I will buy a Piezo igniter to store with this stove and use it as a motorcycle camping or backup car camping stove. I have already bought another stove to get the job done for backpacking.

Primus, call me and we can make the "CLASSIC II" ;-)

Simple, Effective, Light, and Small

I own a Jetboil, love it. I own this and love it too. They compliment each other perfectly. This one for pasta, or something that needs a pan or pot, the jetboil for water for dehydrated foods, coffee, etc.
Love it.

Simple, Robust & Reliable

This stove combined with a 14cm Zebra pot will cover virtually any cooking situation. No, it is not a featherweight. However, what you gain is a stove that will last multiple lifetimes with a minimal amount of care. Totally reliable. This stove simmers beautifully, and the flame is nice and wide. No hot spots in the center of the pot. Unlike the extremely lightweight stoves with folding pot supports even heavy and wide pots are well supported and stable. So, boil water, make mac and cheese, fry up some bacon and eggs. This stove will handle it all without a fuss.Read full review
