Machiavelli wrote this book five centuries ago when he was in exile. Although language may have changed since then, people haven't.
This straight-talking book is about power - how to get it and how to keep it. There are no rose-coloured wafflings about mankind's innate goodness - just the facts about how groups of people work, behave and can be controlled. Some might call it cynical - I call it realistic.
