What A Game

Psychic World is one of the best games for Sega Game Gear. It is an adventure game that has you playing the role of Lucia(lab assistant to Dr. Knavik) set out to save her twin sister(Cecile; also an lab assistant to Dr. Knavik) from Dr. Knavik (evil research scientist/alien) after an experiment in his research lab goes wrong causing an explosion. Dr. Knavik tells Lucia that Cecile was abducted by the animals he used in his experiments. Our heroine is equipped with an ESP Booster pack to perform extra-sensory disciplines to aid her on her quest to defeat the enemies. You will have to go through 4 levels destroying enemies and evading obstacles that are in your way. Lucia gets all sorts of power-ups after defeating enemies that she can use on the rest of her quest. She gets a Psy Cannon(weapon you start out with), Hydro Wave(launches ice blasts at enemies and used to create ice blocks to get to places you can't reach,etc.), Burning Bullet(shoot fire balls at enemies; ineffective on some of them though), Freeze Ray(temporarily puts enemies on ice), Ultra Sonic(radio waves to take out enemies and barriers), Explosion(takes out all enemies in your path), Levitation(used to reach certain heights), Shield(temporary invincibility; also restores health), and Teleportation(used to restart the level you're on: use if ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY because your energy will still be low). The graphics are nicely done and the music is great too. I enjoy experimenting with Lucia's different abilities in the levels and during boss battles. On the last level, you will have to put great thought in every decision you make in order to successfully beat the game. If you manage to get that far, you'll see what I mean. I beat the game many times. Pyshic World has great replay value because it is fun and challenging. I haven't seen too many copies for sale on eBay, but it is reasonanbly priced. An unmissable magical adventure!

If you are a fan of platforms in the purest Mega Man style, Psycho World is something you must try! It is a marvel, with incredible music, new skills and very decent difficulty. You can not lose this!
