Its true - these are great

I cannot stop listening these Concept 20's. I find them very suitable for my taste. They are balanced in sound with no particular emphasis on any band. I love the accuracy of the sound that these speakers deliver. It sounds like every instrument has its own channel within the speaker. The feeling of presence is fantastic. Read the reviews online - they are quite accurate.

The sound is more detailed in reproduction compared to my previous 14-year old KEF floor-standing speakers, which I find surprising. For me this means that my subjective taste is not tied to a brand or price tag, but the actual sound. Q acoustics team has done a great job.

PS. To address the lower low-end I added a sub. Don't expect miracles from a bookshelf speaker. Also, I am pairing these with Yamaha RX V375

A huge slice of high end hifi.

Best heard on stands, any stands, I'm using second hand Atacamas. I did have them on a bookshelf and was a bit meh, but put them on stands and suddenly there's imaging, accuracy, and tonality. Vocals are like they are in the room. Listening to the TV through them I find myself wondering what's going on outside the house, before realising it's on the TV.
They present a very accurate soundstage, can really hear separation and imaging to such an extent my other more expensive and bigger speakers have been put away.
The concepts have some technologies that are beyond other speakers, such as the aluminium front plate with bitumen strips behind so the sound from the drivers is not being towed by the cabinet, the terminals are non ferrous(magnetic) except for the nut, and the tweeter is de-coupled. Also of course there is the cabinet within cabinet construction.
These were £450 originally and are now available at ~£200, I guess the concept 30 is the replacement at £800+ would love to hear those.
Bass - they have all the bass it goes very low and is tuneful, it's just not the loudest, if you want loads of bass the concept 40 floor stander might be better.
Cables do matter, look at the insulation, ptfe insulation is worthwhile eg QED xtube .

The best speaker you can get at the price and size

Wonderful clarity and separation, bass surprisingly good but I have paired them with a subwoofer as well for movies. They have a rear port and as I have them close to the wall I have experiments with foam bungs. Due to the subwoofer I have decided to keep the bungs in at the moment. Cabinets are solid as rocks! Amazing sound

The sound rivals even big floor standing speakers, detailed and transparent.

Q acoustics concept 20 speakers.

These speakers are amazing, clear tuneful and amazing bass depth for a speaker of this size. I think you would be hard pushed to find a stand mounted speaker that is better than these for under £500. Outstanding value, can't fault themRead full review...

Go test a pair for Visual and sonic perfection in a book shelf speaker.

BLOWN AWAY!!

The reason why I wanted these handsome chaps in the first place is because in white with the smoothed of edges they look so stylish in a cool 70s way. After connecting them up the clarity across the sound spectrum is astonishing, I was kind of expecting the high and mid to be impressive because they are Q acoustics but the punchy bottom end was a real surprise, Over the years I have herd a lot of systems from high end guitar and bass amps in studio environments and super club systems in Ibiza and what I am trying to say is these speakers are just so honest. If you play a lot of vinyl as I do the concept 20s will make you aware of every scratch and scuff no mater how small, These are total quality.
Go try them out or just take the plunge, For looks and sound I will keep these forever.
