A needful update for your older ESL 63
As the subject suggests, this is something you will need as the older protection circuits are less secure and suffer larger risk of failure due to the fact that it has to take care of all of the power from the amp instead of getting relief from the needed diode bridge.

QUAD 63's are a stable electronics design capable of restoration to 'as new' quality.
Newer equivalent quality units are 3 times the price with less maintainable components.

Lifting the quads off the floor allows the speakers image to deepen the soundstage, i recommend it.
The stands are well made.
If you added a b&w pv1 with an active crossover and a pair of Townshend's super tweeters the quad 63s can totally nail hard and fast music, try Leftfield or Audio bully's for a mind blowing experience and these can ace it. none betterRead full review
