Raid On Entebbe (DVD, 2012)

Well worth watching.

Had seen this film several times before but having recently met one of the commandos who actually took part in the operation I just had to buy it and watch it again. He gave a very detailed account of what actually happened when he was age 23, so it made watching the film even more interesting.
Although it is now what you would say 'dated' I would recommend this film as it is based on an actual event that happened 40 years ago in 1976. The actors in the film played their roles very well and although several lives were lost in the operation, it has a happy ending.Read full review

Probably the best film on the subject of this raid,tense,atmosperic,and good acting.

Probably the best film to date that covers this actual event. The film captures not only the raid itself, but the atmosphere in which it occurred,the political pressures, and the impact on the people involved. Some would say it is now dated, but it is that datedness which gives you the right historical feel for the era in which this raid took place. A slick high octane action thriller would not capture the distress which the hijacking caused, and which in a bigger scale is still happening today in the Middle East.The underlying problems for both sides in the dispute have still not been resolved.This film helps to remind us all of that.Read full review
