Ray Mears - Bushcraft - Series 2 (DVD)
Bought mainly for the bonus footage, which was excellent - clear descriptions of some essential bushcraft skills. The whole dvd is excellent, but then I'm already a Ray Mears fan. I am particularly impressed by Ray's approach to bushcraft which is that of respecting nature and learning how to work with it or adapt to it, rather than to challenge it in a gung-ho fashion. The same goes for the way in which Ray relates to the indigenous peoples that he spends time with - learning from and respecting their traditions (and occasionally teaching them some skills gained from his own experience). Highly recommended. If you have seen any of Ray's TV series and like the programmes, then this dvd is probably one for your collection.Read full review...
Superb educational experience
An outstanding series, backed by a number of excellent books. These educational films are valuable in learning about the world around us, and teach much we need to understand even in our home living.

Seldom seen one who is so enthusiastic about himself, his work and his surroundings. In one word; integrity. What he teaches could also be very useful when we run out of electricity, oil and well stocked supermarkets. Everytime i see this guy do his work i'm so fascinated by it. its for an xmas presant and i will not be waching it so i cant realy comment about how good or bad it is personaly it noy my cup of tea but each to there own i suppose.
