An excellent cast working with brilliant scripting brings the viewer into Dave Lister's life as (nearly) the lowest-ranked member of the crew of Jupiter Mining Corporation's Ship, the Red Dwarf. (If he gives those laboratory mice an order, they snap to it!)I bought the Dvds to build my collection of what I have considered some of the BBC's best science-fiction comedy, ranking with Their serialized production of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. The humor ranges from satirical to slapstick, hitting well on many of Science fiction's 'sacred cows;' Robots, Androids, Holograms, Stasis fields,memorable alien creations, and fun spaceships. Best Kept Secret in Comedy

Best Brittish comedy to hit these shores since Benny Hill donned a dress and was chased by a bevy of young women. The vehicle itself is a solid sci-fi story that had potential as serious drama, but when turned into comedy by the excellent writers, it is something truely unique.
