East to See Why She Won
It's easy to see how Ms. Hudson won the best actress Oscar for her portrayal of the Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin. The whole movie is a very well made and entertaining film. I found out a number of things about Ms. Franklin that I did not know. Her life had a great deal of tragedy in it as well as triumphs. Ms. Hudson isn't the only talent on the screen. The rest of the cast is outstanding. The direction and production are both good. It is well written. The score is enjoyable. It is primarily composed of Franklin's hits. It was a joy for me.
