Interesting Analysis the Debunks the Anti-Catholic Image of the Enlightenment

Interesting analysis of the Catholic Enlightenment. The author divided the book into 3 sections: conflict, engagement and retreat. The first two sections analyzing religion in France and Italy were "Catholic heavy." However, the third section analyzing religion in England and American colonies was predominately concerned with Methodism.

Well-researched. I would have just liked more information about Catholicism in England and the Americas during the period in question.
