Good replacement for the original

I initially tried to cancel my order for this item and revert to a manufacturers original fearing it would be lesser quality.
It is! !..... HOWEVER... once fitted it worked with minimal tinkering but please note.
1) this item clips on to the circular central motorised boss in the mirror housing only. The two plastic side clips/guides that give additional security on the original part are absent. This doesn't seem to affect the function, and after a week of use remains secure. It moves easily under power and there is no obvious vibration etc. at speed which if present may have blurred the view
2) In fitting this heated mirror glass after having a good look over it , I noted the electrical connections on this part are roughly half the width and marginally thinner than that of the original. This means a minor adjustment is needed to encourage them to grip the wire terminals or they simply drop off! A little squeeze with a pair of combi plyers did the job.
Overall I'm pleased and would recommend especially considering the cost saving. Another fact worth considering is that my 'super duper' original mirror that this cheaper one replaced needed changing for a reason.... It actually blew apart at 80mph for no apparent reason other than driving at motorway speed when the frontal mirror-glass separated from it's heater element backing. All I can blame is that it occurred after the car was parked in the rain overnight. This suggests that regardless of being original, there is no guarantee that it won't let you down.
