Ring of the Nibelung by George Solti and Ul De Rico (1980, Hardcover)

Incredbile book, incredible illustrations.

That being said, a word of caution: the illustrations in this book are of a surreal, and oftentimes graphic depiction.

It is a book based off of a legendary 4 cycle opera, and by god i think ul de rico has captured the true strangeness of it all in one succinct package.
