Ring RLD4 Oil/Fuel Leak Detection Dye

Amazing product.

I spent a considerable amount of time (and money) trying to locate a small fuel leak on a motorbike with no success. I could smell it but not find it. I rigged up half a litre of fuel in an auxiliary fuel tank with a few drops of this and ran the bike for 5 mins in a darkened garage. When I shone my UV torch it took me less than 5 seconds to identify exactly where it was coming from. Good but needs to be used more concentrated

When added to approx 12 litres of diesel it is diluted to the stage where it is visible in the fuel but could do with being more concentrated. So a slightly large dose - or a lower recommended maximum amount of fuel in the tank (currently stated as 10-15 litres) - would have helped.Read full review

UV Dye Kit.

Puchased to locate a crack in a cylinder head. The dye was added to a minimal amount of diesel in the tank (approx 10 litres) and then pumped around the system to circulate it. Unfortunately, it was virtually unnoticable within the engine (only very slight colouration) and did little to aid location of the crack. The UV torch however, works well for the money. Oil be back

Did not work. To be fair i have 4.5 litres of oil in the engine which is more than the recommended dilution, even still there was not a sausage of UV detection in the oil. For UV torch works well enough as it did detect other contaminants from around the engine.
No instructions cane I had to Google how to use the product.

Very good works well

Didn't think this would work but it proved me wrong. I have a 1.1 engine what holds about 4 liters of oil. Poured it in and drove about 8 10 mile then checked it shows up quite well even in day light as a different colour you can definitely tell where the oil is leaking from without cleaning up your engine.
