Best Road Rash Ever.

As the other reviewers mentioned, this is an awesome old school arcade game.It has that in ur face, real world feel without lacking any depth or playback. Graphic wise, a bit outdated but still looks great from a distance away, tracks are interactive, very well laid out and have spectacular scenery. Nice little touches throughout the game, hilarious, interactive pedestrians(old grandma with a cane crossing the street,pedestrians yell when ran over), comical video cut scenes, chains and crowbars as weapons.The game consists of 5 different tracks, set in both urban and rural environments, with twisting curves and obstacles, each expanding longer as u progress through the game and make mo money to upgrade ur bike. This game was also released on the PlayStation and it blows all the other Road Rash games on it out of the water.Even after +10 years this game is fun. This is a 3DO Best Buy Title!!
Theres No feeling in the world like kicking a racing rival into the path of an on coming car while doing 150Mph!!

This was truely a new high point for combat & arcade style racers when this game was released! This game blew away all the arcade racers at the time, but was never an arcade franchise.
Theres something here for all arcade racing fans.
The graphics are a bit dated but look really nice since your moving so fast.)
Big game mode is where this title really shines pick 1 of 8 characters each with different bikes, starting cash & weight.
Race through 5 levels of 5 tracks (public roads) including city, interstate, country highways & more, all with the option of taking an exit or maybe a short cut(dirt trail).
Make money for winning or placing in the race.
Or Pay for repairs or traffic ticket / jail fines by wrecking or getting busted by the cops..
Save up to buy new bikes the game offers 3 classes of bikes with 5 bikes in each class.
Including nitro bikes for that extra burst of speed when your going for a high speed pass or just trying to get as far from the cop behind you as soon as possible.
Theres so many crazy things that happen in this game theres always seemingly something happening you have yet to have seen before!
This game stands to be what call to be the best ever digital control racer for handling & consistent control.
As a straight racing game this is a really strong title, they didnt short change the racing aspect of the game for combats sake as most combat racers tend to do.
But once your good at the game or just build money up early in the game to buy a bike that outclasses the competition it can be mighty fun just to slow down for some serious scrappin'. You can punch, kick, run over & weapon smack other riders.
The races & level progressions are followed by some funny videos & really good art work.
So heres my numerical ratings for the game, on 1-10 higher is better,

GRAPHICS----8 theres some draw up in the distance & fmv can be a bit gritty at times. But this game looks really nice. For a 1994 its flat out Stunning!

CONTROL----10 this game is dead on control wise, some bikes handle better than others & have different characteristics. This game proves the 3DO controller is often underrated.

SOUND------10 Good soundFX & music soundtrack. This was the 1st console game that supported Dolby surround sound.

FUN FACTOR-10 This is The best road rash game out. If you have a 3DO Buy this game its a great game.

There is a port of this game on the playstation its simply called road rash its "by far" the best RR game on the ps, beating out RR 3D & RR jailbreak.
It is also better than the N64 RR game.
I mention this to point out this game stands the test of time very well.
I'll say most of the people I know who have or have had a 3DO bought the system for this game & have had no regrets about doing so.

For Those of you that have this game, Heres a twist on multi player
One of my favorite things is to have runover & rash competitions with my friends. (its not a bore to watch someone else play this game) You take turns to see who can run over the most people & knock the most riders off thier bikes.. Its a blast! For those interested heres how i score "runover & rash competitions" pedestrians=1point a npc racer knock off=5points a cop knock off=10points Cop run over=15 & finish the race=30points
