Less Tap more story?

This is an Astaire Rogers collaboration that is less bout the dancing and music more the story.

Roberta is a renowned Paris clothes designer. Astaire along with Randolph Scott (not wearing chaps and riding the range lol) find themselves in Paris without a gig for their band. However Scott's favourite Aunt the eponymous Roberta, helps out and gets them a gig. An Italian Viscountess one of Roberta's more trying clients is actually Astaire's childhood neighbour, from back int the States. Meanwhile Randolph Scott, who is not riding a horse, and actually brushes up well and looks neat in a sexy pinstriped suit, falls for the Woman who has taken over the designing of the Roberta label. Roberta dies, and usual antics of who will take over the company.

There isn't a lot of dancing but the story is good enough.
I won't spoil the actual ending but a good film.

Pure entertainment for dance fans

It was an unknown film to me so I decided to track it down, being a great fan of Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers. I loved it. Although it is in black & white, this did not distract from my enjoyment. Good acting, lovely costumes, great dancing. Just pure entertainment.Read full review
