Brilliant Film

If you like rock music then you'll love this. The film tells the story of a rock fan who is obsessed with his favourite band modelling himself on the lead singer, he sings in a tribute band and after the lead singer is sacked from the real band he is catapulted to stardom with his music hero's. Good performances from Mark Wahlberg, Jennifer Aniston, Dominic West and Timothy Oliphant. Timothy Spall as the band manager is excellent.
The film features music from AC/DC, Def Leppard, Bon Jovi, Kiss, Motley Crue, Ted Nugent and Inxs, as well as songs performed by the fictional rock band Steeldragon.
Ozzy Osbournes guitarist Zac Wilde is the lead guitarist for Steeldragon while Jason Bonham is the drummer.

Remember your rock past with a smile.

Great movie for anyone like me who was in their mid-late teens in the late 80's / early 90s and went to rock gigs. Prepare to recognise some characters and perhaps yourself(!)

I first watched this film when i was about 10 so i liked but i didnt love it. I watched it yesterday, 8 years after i first watched it, and realised that this film is the best.
The music is awesome especially "stand up and shout" and the cast are simply amazing..they even went as far as getting john bonham's son, jason, to play the drums in the band "steel dragon" which the film is about. The film was also based around the band, judas priest.
I highly recommend this film to anyone even if youre not particularly into rock music because it was made to show the time when 80's metal was best and how to live like a rockstar.Read full review...

A great movie loosely based on the real-life story of Tim 'Ripper' Owens joining classic heavy metal band Judas Priest.

Chris Cole (Wahlberg) joins as the new singer of his favorite band 'Steel Dragon' and experiences the excesses of rock n' roll life on the road. Jennifer Aniston co-stars as his girlfriend Emily.

Great Music

Enjoyed this film about the 80`s Heavy Rock music scene,as I loved the Metal music in the 80`s and still do,found this well acted in an amusing way,the music rocked and the long hair great,so much better than the shaven bald look of today.I still have longish thick hair now and am proud of it.
Don`t the young baldy`s know that most when they get old will look like Grandad`s twenty years earlier than they should.It`s a pity.
