Very good for the money.

This is a really excellent but of kit for the money and makes chopping logs for your wood burner easy and quick. I used two top tips from other reviewers not to be ignored. Search for the Clarke saw horse assembly instructions as the ones you receive are boyond useless. And stick some course grade sand paper on the flat metal plates that clamp to your chainsaw bar to prevent slippage. Follow these great tips and you won't go wrong. Read full review...

Pretty good for the price.

Makes sawing considerably safer but a PITA to assemble (the saw holder and log-length measure are far from obvious .. the latter bolts to the former which drops into one end of the horse upright, and really requires at least a 16" chainsaw bar-length (smaller ones won't reach across to the far side). I use a cabled electric chainsaw which works fine .. you can leave it assembled until you want to clean it.

The saw clamp (which holds the chain-bar) doesn't hold very well - you need about 18" of steel bar to torque up the eye-bolt, with some danger of stripping the threads, and STILL the saw will tilt (with some risk of the clamp jaws from meeting the chain, which would 'not be good'). Chainsaw blade bars get OILY (by design) so getting a firm grip by squeezing it needs something rougher than a steel block.

Once assembled it is easy to use, working the saw one handed, positioning logs with the other hand, which would be crazy under other circumstances.

Reasonable quality, fair price

Not the best quality materials but for the price as good as you'll get. A little fiddly to put together but once all together works very well. Takes my 20" saw without a problem. Good sized logs can be put in up to around 300mm diameter. The saw pivot looks a bit dodgy but in fact works well and the chain guard is a good safety touch. End of the day it makes single handed operation so much easier, and safe. Recommend.Read full review...

Good Quality Log holder

This is a very good product, takes a while to set up as the instructions are hard to follow.

I have used this once and very happy with it.

The product is very strong, the only thing it is quite low.

Also the holder for the chainsaw takes all the weight of the saw and saves time not having to lift and set down the chainsaw every time.

Makes cutting sticks safe and quicker.

I would highly recommend this product.

Sack the copywriter!!!! Otherwise it does the job well.

Exactly as others say. Great once it is built and very quick/ safe etc. even if you are working alone. However, someone needs to rewrite the build instructions since they are of very little use and you end up figuring out how to build it just from the photo on the box. Don't get this if you struggle to build IKEA furniture since this will take you a couple of hours even if you're confident.Read full review...

Excellent product, make work with a chainsaw very safe and comfortable!

It was my first time I have ever used a chainsaw and had a few concerns about safety of using it.
This product made me feel more confident, safety features like chain cover and very stable stand make work with a chainsaw real pleasure… definitely recommend to get one.Read full review...

Assembly

A useful product which would be improved if it were about 300 mm wider and had a holdown facility, chain perhaps to counter the down pressure whilst cutting. a big minus was the lack of assembly instructions, there were none regarding the bench itself and components could easily be assembled upside down (eg bench platforms) and you don't find out until the next step!Read full review...

Excellent back saver!

Began chopping a large pile of Oak branches and logs and quickly realised my days of bending over with a heavy chainsaw for more than 5 mins were over! With a fair amount to do, I invested in this great gadget which is well made, decently sturdy and well designed. Fold neatly too for easy storage against a wall or in a gap. I have seen these too for twice the price so at 38 quid, I think it's a definite bargain. I noticed some of the review talked about the bar clamp coming lose, so before I used it I in fact super glued coarse sandpaper on both cheeks of the metal clamp and so far that's worked a treat. no real issues in putting together although I did use a link for the CLARKE equivalent product (from an Amazon review I think) to get more detailed instructions....took about an hour and fairly easy. really glad I bought it though as it's excellent in terms of both speeding up the task and making it much much safer.Read full review...

Quality Chainsaw Saw Horse

Although poor instructions for assembly, you soon get over it. It is a strong, firm saw horse. Glad they supplied quality locking nuts, otherwise thing would probably keep falling apart. It does speed up the cutting process and make it that little bit safer. You still need to keep pressure on the wood during cutting specially with smaller diameter (kickback). For the price and quality a worthy addition for any wood cutting with chainsawRead full review...

Great piece of kit, instructions rubbish

For the money this is an excellent piece of kit allowing you to chop firewood up fairly safely. The instructions however are written on a stamp and might as well just say "put it together" ! This meant that the saw horse was dismantled several times during construction as access was needed to hidden fixings in the late stages of construction. 4 out of 5 would definitely buy it again but lost a mark for the rubbish paperworkRead full review...
