The best of the same price

To use this mic with an android phone, the sound you get back with your earphone is quite low, eventhough you push the volume up to the top.
Connecting with a laptop, the sound you hear is quite normal regarding the same mentioned above.
As for the sound quality being recorded, it is crystal clear with decent base and sounds much better compared with the mic embedded in the cell phone(Galaxy 10).
I am expecting this Rode mini to be more compatible with the latest iPhone or iPad in terms of the sound back to our ears with the 3.5 mm jack on its back. Since I use iPhone x also, I can't figure it out without an adapter from USB C to lightning.
By the way, you can only hear the dry sound without post treatment. Gonna learn to use Audition Adobe to make my voice more attractive. It does take time from the scratch, hah...

Excellent product. Hard to beat in this price range.

I spent a lot of time looking for a decent USB microphone, and checked out many reviews on the subject. This one came with only good recommendations, to which I can happily lend my additional support. The build quality is impressively substantial, which is reflected in the fact that this microphone is surprisingly heavy for its size; although not inconveniently so. On the contrary; it 'feels' like a quality item. To some extent its suitability depends upon your intended use. And the small size of this unit may not suit those who intend it to be employed in a 'sitting on the desk' position, because from base to top it only reaches a height of 14cm (5.5") which means that you would need to place it on a stand to avoid bending over whilst speaking. But if, like me, you want it for singing it can be easily hand-held (although not obviously designed for this purpose) or fitted to a standard microphone stand with the adaptor as supplied. The sound quality is obviously the main thing, however, and this is as good as any other microphone I have experienced. It is easy to use without any tedious downloading of special drivers, and is the literal definition of 'plug in and play'. The sound can be monitored through a headphone jack with a level control. Admittedly the volume level through the headphone O/P could have had a bit more level available, but really nothing to complain about. So, if you need a good USB microphone it is my opinion that you can't really go wrong with this. And, at this price, it's really a very good deal indeed.Read full review...

Quality external usb mic! very easy to use simply plug and play. did a quality comparison to the laptop mic and the sound is so much better, ie no echo and sound is much deeper and clearer! wasn't too expensive either. i can see why its perfect for podcasts and voice overs. even better for zoom calls too.Read full review...

Solidly built and great value for money

I wented a decent USB microphone for doing voice overs and as I use a couple of Rode microphones on my cameras and they are good, thought that this would be worth punt, I am not disappointed the sound is excellent. The detachable magnetic base is a clever touch and very effective plus you don't need an external 'pop' filter because that is built in. If you want to, you can remove it from the base and mount it on a microphone stand/arm but it is fine for me as is.Read full review...

Excellent sound quality and rock solid build quality, all in a very compact package. The sound is very natural, meaning very little tweaking is needed in post processing. The built in pop filter works pretty well, although it is still a good idea to position it at a slight angle to the speaker's mouth to avoid the worst of the plosives.

The only reason it loses a star is the stand, which is way too small to bring it near the speaker's mouth, and lacks any kind of bump isolation. I have mounted it on a Tonor T20 mic arm, which works well.Read full review...

It is a nice product. However, be careful when using it next to a laptop. The base has a powerful magnet which completly wipes out a hard drive in a matter of seconds. This happened to me personally and I had to replace the hard drive and would have almost lost all data stored. Read full review...
