This is my second Roku. My previous one works fine on the 1080 TV it's connected to, but I wanted one that had a little more processing power and 4K support for the occasionally available content.
If throughput becomes problematic, I'll run an ethernet cable to the this Roku Ultra.

I like ethernet connectivity.
setup was easy. Don't use the remote at all. Don't want a microphone listening to everything said in the room, so the remote is battery-less and put away in a box. Don't use the ear buds either because I've got wireless headphones for all TV inputs and choices.

Awesome, but only if...
I truly love this unit. I used it with Youtube and correctly deciphered my voice commands over 95% of the time! Now, I don't have to develop carpal tunnel syndrome from overuse of my thumb to type in a search request!
I also love the aquarium screen saver. I really nice touch as compared to the right-to-left scrolling of a city landscape screen saver.

We’re enjoying our Roku Ultra. We upgraded from an old Sony smart Blu-ray player and a Chromecast, the Roku is so much faster than the Blu-ray player and it isn’t doesn’t tie up our phone like the chromecast did. Button layout
The remote works very well and it was easy to set up. I have one significant complaint though- the button layout is bad. There are two buttons down at the bottom that rarely get used and take up a huge amount of space. They take up so much space the buttons you do use a lot are crammed together making it nearly impossible to fast forward, pause or rewind without pressing the wrong button.Read full review...

Speaking of which...Note to sellers: reset Roku to factory settings before shipping. The device is also not possible to link to a new account if it is still linked to yours (unless you reset to factory settings). This one had old user's email address and credit card number stored on the device. Good thing I don't rent a lot of expensive movies! Seems to work about the same as the Roku 3 I replaced with this model. The Roku 3 got to where it wouldn't power up and I tried other Roku power supplies, so I figured it was cooked. I think it would perform better if I got a new router. My old one seems to slow down after periods of heavy usage. Purchased two refurbed Roku Ultras and they both work fine one month later. Mostly watching DirectvNow and Netflix for 95 percent of our viewing, but other streaming apps seem fine including playing ripped video files on USB thumbdrives. Both units are hard wired via CAT5 cables to my network, so I've not streamed over my wireless network. I'd definitely buy another refurbed unit if we need a 3rd Roku in the house.Read full review...
