It does what is says on the tin!

I used this product to cover a water stain on a down stairs ceiling caused by a leaking first floor radiator and an oil? stain which kept reappearing when painted over with emulsion paint.
The Damp Seal covered both stains with one liberal coat leaving a white "gloss" finish when dry. It was easy to apply by brush with the consistency of thick wood glue. After being left to dry it was totally covered by one coat of white emulsion paint.
I have not tried this product on a damp wall/ceiling but it worked excellently as a stain blocker on my dry ceilings and there was no further reappearance of either stain.

Coverage

Well I am nearly 70 years of age and have always done my own decorating and I have never used this block paint before but it Does Not cover water stains in one coat in fact it took multiple coats in fact about 7 or 8 so I am very disappointed in this product. After all these coats I can still see a slight water stain edge mark .I am hoping that the emulsion coats will be ok .very very disappointed.Read full review...

Expensive, but works.

I used this before on a damp patch under my window sill about 2 years or more ago. So far, the damp hasn't returned. This time, I'm using it for a different problem, but because of the previous good results I expect it to work again. As far as good value goes, I have to say "no" to that one. £10.95 for a 250ml tin seems very expensive to me? Also, it doesn't spread on easily. You really have to put a bit of effort into it, so don't expect it to go on like ordinary paint because it won't. Read full review...

Good product

Good product, covered damp stain well, make sure if you use this to cover anything you don't want any over spray to land on like carpet etc, I would definitely recommend this.

Expensive

At £16 for a 250ml can, this paint is very expensive. I hope it does it's job and prevents a damp patch spreading further. It was packaged well, but still arrived very bashed. What can I say...it was Hermes that delivered it!Read full review...
