Stunning, fast but not so quiet this time.
Having had this exact model before, which was excellent - I thought it best to stick to what I already knew was good. It boils fast, looks great BUT this one is no where near as quiet as my last one - hence four stars. My previous kettle (owned for 3 years) still works, but the lid stopped opening. The finish on the kettle is lovely - it's brushed steel grey that has a glow of lilac in certain light - it's really smart. Stainless steel - but there are plastic view windows and internal level markers - please Russell Hobbs, see if you can find an alternative - plastic baaad!Read full review

Very dishonest description. Not grey but blue. Twice a noisy as RH 30 year old kettle
I am amazed the description is 100% inaccurate. The colour is very dak blue/purple (see other reviews) do you have a purple/blue kitchen?
I did a Quiet Boil test with my 30+ year old Russell Hobs kettle and the Luna. Both with 1 lit of water. The Luna with ' Quiet Boil technology' could be heard 2 rooms away. The 30+ year old R Hobbs kettle could only be heard in the same room. The Lune was just seconds quicker to boil.
So no new advances in over 30 years by Russell Hobs except the stramlined design and totally false claims about describtion!Read full review

A Very Good Kettle, BUT....
This is a very good kettle but with one drawback - the lid on mine will not open until the kettle has cooled down. Fortunately that isn't as big a problem as I initially thought it would be, as it normally has to boil water for only myself and my wife and one fully boiled kettle is ample for the two of us. It usually has plenty of time to cool before we reuse it. For a family needing to boil water in quick succession it could be really annoying, although it can be filled down the spout if necessary..
On the plus side, it's the quietest kettle I've used by quite a long way, boils very quickly, pours well and is comfortable to use.
I would recommend this kettle as long as you can live with the lid issue. Maybe the manufacturers designed the lid as a safety (non scalding) feature!Read full review

Good looking and efficient - also light for its size
It’s the same brand and version of the kettle we’ve had for the last eleven or so years only more good looking! It’s fairly light, flip lid makes it easy to fill and is a fast, quiet boiler. The glass panel up the side with level markings is very clear so you can judge just how much water you do actually want to boil! Read full review

Fast boil and good design
I really like the look of this kettle. It’s very light and is easy to fill. The 1-3 cup markers are a great help in only using the water you need. I did find the first few cups of tea tasted funny even though I had filled it right up and boiled it twice before using it, but it’s fine now.Read full review

It’s quiet, quick to boil, has a good sized lid for filling, looks smart and takes up less space than most. Having a smaller base makes it less stable though, and it also takes longer to switch off once the water is boiling.Read full review

Win Win
Best Kettle especially for the one cup, you pay to heat only the water you use.
But for a couple or family then it takes longer to make each one separate.
This is the 3rd one I have had, having tried the instant water kettle, I found this a lot better
and at a greater reduced cost.

Coffee QUICK!
Excellent for that first coffee that you can't wait for! Quicker than a kettle even when making multiple drinks. Great if you have arthritis as you never have to lift it, can be topped up on its stand. This is my second one, hope it lasts as long as the first one!
No good for boiling water to do the washing up. Filling hole is a bit small. No low level cutout, but easy to see the water level.Read full review

GOOD LOOKING
Handsome kettle, easy to use, reasonably rapid boil (but boils for too long before switching off). As for quiet boil: yes, for the first half a dozen times. Now just as noisy as my old Russell Hobbs. Disappointed.Read full review

one mug kettle, easy to use
I bought this so that my mother, who has suffered from a stroke, can make tea for herself safely, but this is not the case as the only cup she can use safely holds less water than the cup measured by the machine, so I am still making the tea for her. Other than that I find it very convenient and easy to use, it looks niice but I find it quite noisy, which was a surprise the first time I used it, which is something that I have got used to. Overall I love it and it will be useful for me as I get less able.Read full review
