i never knew wireless controllers existed till a friend told me. i have a vaillant ecotec plus with a basic plug in mechanical timer---and NO room stat. bought this--easy plug in fitment--then set up the wireless programmer. best to look on youtube for how to do it.
it seems well made--hope its durable. not mounted on a wall--stood on a sideboard so can use in other rooms if i like.
looking forward to saving its cost by reduced bills !

Fitted the unit 10 days ago. I liked the way it plugged into the front of my vaillant. I was happy with the standard settings of times and temperatures provided.
Had to have a week away and when I got back to the house I was disappointed to find that the heating had failed. The receiver was showing that comms was lost. Disappointing especially as the unit was less than 7 metres from the receiver.
I reset the receiver and the boiler burst into life. I will contact Salus for advice.

Excellent product and company
Very easy to fit, with the help of PDQ and programme with the help of Salus and I'm a female pensioner with no DIY knowledge. Just a matter of taking off plate from boiler changing the pins round on the programmer and slotting in. I needed a little help to programme as I didn't find instructions brilliant but not a problem as Salus were great. It works perfectly not in the same room as boiler. Comes on when I want it in the morning and at night but easily overrode just by moving dial to increase temperature and then touch arrow button to go back to programme. Very smart looking and does the job. A plumber wanted a lot of money to fit a new thermostat forget it buy the Salus and do it yourself.Read full review

Unfortunately its range is pretty terrible. I've had to put it in the same room as the boiler now. Works well enough otherwise, although the ambient temp reading goes up after you've held it for a short adjustment which can be a bit irksome. It's good value compared to the prices of similar products from the main boiler manufacturers, but at the same time it doesn't fulfil its entire raison d'etre. Read full review

I've been read about that products negative feedbacks but I bought one to check it out and I'm really surprised. I mean positively surprised. I had to prepare my boiler little bit but in the end it works brilliant. To customers with Vaillant ecoTEC plus 831: if you been used external controller after disconnecting you have to leave pin 3 and 4 in bridge. I didn't know about that trick and i contact with my seller in this case PDQ spears LTD. After about 1 minut i recive Phone call from gentleman who explain me my mistake. Amazing service!!!!. At this moment everything works grate. Range: about 10 meters even though the wall. Setup of timing: moderate. Installation: easy.
