Super player

I have been astounded at the quality of picture reproduction, I have bought at least 6 blueray players but none match this player. Love it. Yes an oldie but such a gem of a player.

Samsung BD-P1500 Blu-Ray Player

When it's working it's good, when it upgrades the firmware it becomes problematic. samsung support is very poor.

Very good reasonably priced bluray player

A bluray player from a big name brand for under £150! It supports profile 2.0 bluray which is the BD Live, this is done by firmware update, and plays all your previous DVD movies as well. To top that the design is sleek, slimline and not too bulky so fits into most homes. The player doesnt lock up or freeze at the slightest problem and offers reasonably quick load times. It has optical digital output for 5.1 surround sound, HDMI for the best picture quality, USB for playing files on USB devices or as expansion for BD Live and any other connection you could probably want.
Reason for not being 5 star, hasnt got the built in memory for the BD Live and loading times although good are quicker on other machines.
Overall great buy!

Samsung BD-P1500 Blku-Ray Disc Player

The sleek black front is asthetically pleasing to the eye and the Blu-Ray picture certainly shows off the HD picture quality. After considering what was available and the varied prices I felt that the Samsung was the best value for money. Thankfully the newer machines can automatically update their firmware over the internet. It sure beats manually updating them with a CD. Blu-Ray is bringing a true cinema experience to the home with the vastly improved picture quality and 7.1 sound. The nice HDMI cable replaces the big chunky SCART lead and as the TV sizes increase Blu-Ray is more than able to keep up. As the format becomes more popular Blu-Ray discs are getting cheaper and there are some good offers available.Read full review...

Excellent product

I read a review of this item before actually buying it and was a little sceptical about the quality of the item, but I went ahead and bought it anywa.

When I played the first movie (Star Trek, 2010) I was absolutely taken aback by the quality, the load time is apparently not the fastest in the world, however since this is my first player, I have nothing else to compare it to. It is a little slow, but, the wait is well worth it.

I did notice at the end of the movie, the titles stutter a little bit, but the actual movie itself is like nothing you have seen before, I can assure you.

It has a wide array of connections on the back allowing you to connect it by any way that you would need to a tv, surround sound system or a pc/laptop that has video input devices. The audio quality is incredible, but again as I have nothing to compare it to, it might not be the best on the market.

I was a little disappointed that it says in reviews that mp3 discs cannot be played on it, though I have none to check if this was changed in the firmware updates, it does state that it won't play DVD+R discs only -R, which has been changed with the updated firmware as I played a couple of DVD's on +R discs with no problems. It also states that it is not DivX compatible, another thing fixed with the firmware update, so if I had an mp3 disc to try, I am confident that it would be accepted as the menu does have an audio player in it.

To summerise, if you are looking for a fast loading blu-ray with all the trimmings, this is not for you, get a PS3 lol but if you want a blu-ray player that will play blu-rays in spectacular form and upscale DVD's to HD quality with no effort and on a budget... then this is the blu-ray player for you.

I hope you find this review helpful and if you do buy this player, I am sure you will be as happy as I am with mine.
