Great headset for cycling and talking
I really like the ease of use of this headset. I use it to talk on my cell phone when I am walking or riding my bike. I like how it fits around my neck and that it does not get tangled when stored in my backpack. It provides good enough sound that I can hear the speaker well, but it does not block out sound of traffic around me - which is why I chose this model over the newer version (whose reviews said that the improved earbuds make a stronger seal that blocks out surrounding noise). This is the second Samsung Level U headset that I've owned. Unfortunately, the first headset lasted just over a year and developed problems staying connected, eventually bad enough that I could not maintain a conversation. I was disappointed that Samsung said they could do nothing for me since the one-year warranty had passed. However, I liked the headset well enough that I was willing to give it another try with this sold-as-is one, which so far works very well.Read full review

Poor quality sound, Not as advertised, not comfortable
It's advertised as "noise cancelling" but isn't at all. I advised the seller of this but he was only following the manufactures specs. It also tends to slide off the back of your neck or moves around your neck to one side or the other. I'm sorry I purchased this item and if I could get another that is better and is actually as advertised.
Very uncomfortable to put in your ear. If you only use one side the other hangs down and gets in the way or gets caught on everything.Read full review

much needed bluetooth for work and sports
when moving around a lot it tends to move around the neck if you only have one ear bud in. It's real easy to use but the buds I'm not that big of a fan as sometimes it doesn't want to stay in the ears. It is more comfortable then most ear buds out their on the market. Opening the little cover to the mini usb charge port on the device is a pain to do as well. The good feature about it tho is the sound quality and that it's out of the way with the wires so it wont snag on much of anything as your working.Read full review

Excellent electronics, OK ergonomics
This is my first Level U. I have been wearing LG headsets for years, literally, so my review is a comparison, as follows:
PROS:
1. Has better range than my LG.
2. Stays turned on and connected during a charge (the LG is annoying in this respect)
3. Multifunction selection button and multifunction up and down buttons are convenient and I never press them by accident...I was always pressing the many single-function buttons on my LG headsets by accident.
4. Works better than LG with my phone. The Level U always starts my audio player when I click the button; the LG does it sometimes, if it feels like it.
5. Sturdier than the LG. I've had an LG-900 snap in two, and I've broken the earbud cords on the other LGs so the earbuds quit working. The Level U is sturdier both with a heavier earbud cord, and with a sturdier body design.
6. The cord-shorteners are little elastic bands that slide up and down the arms. They don't fall off, but the LG shorteners do.
CONS:
1. It slides around on my neck. The LG is designed with all the weight in front, so it hangs naturally on my neck in proper orientation, securely. The Level U has more weight in the back, so it slides around on my neck and sometimes falls off. Annoying.
2. The earbuds don't fit my ears. I tried all 3 earbud soft earpieces that come with the unit, and none of them fit snugly, and none of them keep the earpieces from falling out. The LG earpieces fit snugly and don't ever fall out. I do have one friend who says the Level U fits his ear better than the LG, so maybe it's my ear shape.
3. The earbud cords are too short (I'm over 6' tall). I can't turn my head all the way in either direction without pulling the earbud out. If i'm wearing one earbud only, it spins the whole assembly around on my neck. You can adjust them to be shorter with the little rubber bands, but I need them longer.
4. Because of its weight in the back, I can't wear it outside my shirt collar, or it will fall off my back, which means I always have to hunt for the controls under my collar, and the voice quality can be muffled or have a lot of noise from my shirt rubbing the mic.
5. The earpieces are designed to stick together magnetically to keep them handy, but I can never get them aligned just right unless I stop what I'm doing and look down at them and remember how they are designed to grip together. My favorite LG reels them into the base and out of the way and handy.Read full review

Simply, yet functional
I am over-all pleased with the Samsung Level U Wireless Headphones.
They are light and relatively loud for being battery powered. And they
look very "sharp" with almost any style of dress.
r>The Attributes that the Wireless U lack are:
More complex controls, with On/Off, Pair, buttons being all the same button. There is not a lot of functionality to the headset, most of the better phone functions, must still be utilized from the phone interface.
Also, it should be understood that these headphones are designed mostly for phone calls. I have used them to play music through and they do a relatively good job of carrying music, but they aren't performance-based headphones, and Hip-Hop, Rap, and Pop lovers (Such as I) are going to be terribly disappointed at the lack of bas response.Read full review

good for the price
is easy to use . I dont have a problem with it coming off my necj like others have. I lift weights and run/sprint and stays in place. The in-ear cups only have one size that has a hook to go inside your ear but it is the right size for me so it stays within my ear. The volume is king of low compared to other bluetooth devices i have previously owned. I was expecting more. It filters maybe 15 to 10% of the outside noise depending if you are in the gym or on the street. The great thing about it is that i keep my iTouch in my gym shorts pocket and never loose the siganl which does happens with other headsets. Great Bluetooth constant connection abut not too loud in the volume level. Is a good set for that price in my opinion.Read full review

Nice fit, okay sound, Bluetooth drops out often
Overall the Level U is designed sleekly with just a few buttons and minimal functions that are easy to remember - that's nice. It fits comfortably on the neck - that's nice, too. One ear piece keeps popping out for me, but maybe I just have weird-shaped ears...who knows.
Audio quality is what you'd expect from earbuds - not amazing but fair enough for what you need. Bluetooth, the whole purpose for buying these, is perhaps the most frustrating part - the audio drops out often enough to be genuinely irritating. I find it seems to have the most troubles when I've just established the connection or when I move to a new area.
For the price, they seem an okay buy - not a steal, not a must-buy, but not a rip-off either.Read full review

My honest opinion
I purchased this product to replace my LG Tone HBS-900 Bluetooth headset. I've also tried SOL REPUBLIC Shadow which rate so high on many websites and I've read so much good things about it. Well, I can tell you that this Samsung model i much better buy than the SOL REPUBLIC model. (much, much cheaper, sounds quality is about same, full control buttons rather than really minimum function on Sol model and lastly it doesn't slip off every 3 minutes)
Things I love:
1. Battery life is truly awesome. It actually performs as advertised. In my use, I didn't have to recharge after using it for 8 hours of continuous music playing. My LG tone 900 (I think) only offer me about 4-5 hours of continue playing time.
2. Sounds great. It actually sounds much better than my LG model. LG model sounded too high pitch with low base. Samsung model actually sounds great. It really surprise me such low price model works so great.
3. Great design and fit on ear piece. There are several that comes with it, but all of them has a design that actually funnels to the ear cannel. Not like the other models I've used. I think this design feature actually make difference on sound quality. *Notable: I've been using the ear piece set that actually holds inside for running. It actually works great. It doesn't come off while moving at all !
4. For the price point and the quality, most bang for buck in my opinion.
Things I wished they could change:
1. The actual base part of the device is little bit heavy on the back. Meaning that unlike LG product that has the weight on the front part, Samsung model feels like it's gonna slip off of your neck.
2. I really love the design feature of LG model where my old pair has the retractable ear piece wires. (although they are design way too thin: That's one of the reason why my old one failed) I wish Samsung would come up with the model that hides the wires in the future. (It'll make the headset look a lot slicker appearance and I would pay more for it)
3. Software is that great. Although it has all the functionally an more than other bluetooth sets out there, every thing is notified by different ding sounds, not a actual human voice. I like LG model for that. *Note: there is no way to check the level of battery. (that was really the downer for me)
Overall, for the price fraction of all the bluetooth headsets I tried, this model is definitely a BUY.
I've read so many reviews and watch many YOUTUBE review videos. This model seldom comes up as top bluetooth model. I wonder why??? Maybe it's because it's too cheap for reviewer taste.
Well, I hope this help anyone who's looking high and low to find a bluetooth headset that works well and also function all day at work without having to run out of battery.
Good luck and may the force be with you

Performs as Advertised
Good headset with good quality audio. Buttons are intuitive and easy to learn. The length of the wires for the earpieces should be a bit longer, but all in all a great value compared to spending $100 on LG headset.Read full review

Samsung Level U Bluetooth Wireless In-Ear Headphones
The headphones work well, though it took some time for me to fit the ear pieces. The product manual is a little vague on charging and setting up the headphones, but the process is fairly intuitive and easy.Read full review
