Great simple phone

Good phone & works well .The battery only lasts a couple of days but I have been told this is normal for a smartphone.Really easy to use for a real technophobe .

Phone appears good but was a waste of money.

You will understand my poor review when I say that I bought this phone for just one purpose, and it failed on that. I should point out that I don't believe the problem is with the phone but with Google. However, I have been asked to review it so here is my experience.

I had bought a Google Nest Mini but found it was unuseable until it had been setup by a smartphone. I have no smartphone and for the use it would be to me there is no point in my getting one. So I looked around to see how cheap I could get something to setup the Nest Mini & so bought this. I winced at having to spend an extra £15 ontop of what I had already paid but there it is. I chose an Android phone because it both are from Google so, surely, they would work together.

I read all the instructions, did all the searches (from my PC) and went to install the app on my phone. I am unable to as Google says it cannot install to this phone. The app is described by Google as being for an Android, the phone is an Android, But I cannot get the app to setup the Nest Mini onto this phone. For this reason only it was a total waste of money.
The phone itself looked in good condition, and starts and connects to my network with no problem. It even browses & connects to Google app website.

samsung galaxy ace review. £150 smart phone choice. quality

Hello there, when i was considering buying a smart phone my personal budget was apx £150. After a lot of research on the web i narrowed it down to; a second hand iphone 3gs or a new samsung galaxy ace. I wanted to buy the the phone outright so i could have a sim card on giffgaff, i didn't want to be locked into a contract. After much consideration i didn't like the fact that the iphone 3gs would probably be a couple of years old with an unknown amount of use, so opted for a new samsung galaxy ace.
I have not been disapointed with the decision. The samsung galaxy ace performs really well considering its spec compared to the top of the line phones. Internet speed is pretty good, i use youtube a lot and i havn't any issues with it, email easy, messaging easy, weather good, apps good, photo's good. voice recognition very good. I can't really complain. My wife has an iphone 3gs so i can compare pretty well. The iphone 3gs when holding it does feel better quality, but that could be down to the weight the iphone 3gs is a bit heavier and that could be a good thing. The samsung galaxy ace is very light. Comparing the two is a matter of opinion. if both phones were new and at the same price i would have bought the iphone 3gs. but they are not the same price new and both phone arguably perform equally. bang for bucks the samsung galaxy ace is the phone to get. oh battery life, if your buying a smart phone expect to charge it nearly every day, no matter what make, it will now be part of your life (i'm going from an old nokia where charging was about twice a week). But it is worth the switch. 150 quid, buy a samsung galaxy ace :)

Well worth the money!!

Overall the galaxy ACE is a good phone and it is relativly cheap compared to other Android Models. Although this may be down to having practically no onboard HDD Space, seeming low Memory and Small Processor. this sometimes makes scrolling through menus not as smooth as other devices such as the galaxy S2 or the High end HTC Models. all that said i have all the features that other android users enjoy and at an affordable price. The phone is worryingly light and almost feels like a toy, i would say its lacks the feel of a quality item and feels as cheap as it cost. Personally i think that the ACE is the perfect size for a phone not too big and not too small. if it was more powerfull i really feel this could have been a challenger for the Mighty i-phone. I am very happy with my purchase.Read full review...

Smart phone for the money!

Bought my Samsung Galaxy Ace as my son has one and he recommended it to me,i like Samsung as they are very user friendly and easy to use and they can withstand a knock or two, only down side I find is the battery,i have to charge it daily and I turn off data when i'm not using it,its a popular phone so accessories are cheap and plentiful, all in all I like my phone its easy to use and it has all the necessary functions one requires from a smart phone.....ideal!Read full review...

GLITCHES IN OPERATIONS

For the price it's reasonable but as you start to set it up little annoyances come to light. Auto Rotate doesn't work properly if at all, unable to cancel pin for Screen Unlock once set. For the person who is going to use it will suffice but for a more discerning user it would probably be a return item.
Battery seems to hold a decent charge, as for value ? it does the job.

If you've got the time...

When this phone arrived everything was in Russian!!! It's only because I already had a samsung that after about 20 minites I was able to change it to English.
Unable to use it properly though as even to turn the camera on (not take pictures) it gives the message that you need to insert a memory card.
A very time consuming product that requires other components to be purchased before you can use it so, I'm not sure if this has been worth the £30 price tag.

Excellent Basic Mobile

My Wife wanted just a basic mobile to phone and text and do a bit of Googling for her crosswords.
This one performs brilliantly for her. Easy to navigate. It does have a camera which works well on<br>photos and video but we do not use that.
Not sure what is meant by "long battery life" but it does need charged every day so I do not rate that
as particularly good but get used to charging it every morning.
It is reasonably compact to fit in handbag and my Wife loves it.
Value for money is excellent, delivery was superfast, plugged in sim and it was running straight away.

Excellent value and quality

If you chase technology, spend a £1000.00
If you want a really good phone that does all and more than you use on a daily basis, spend less than £40.00 and treat yourself to the best bit of equipment you've bought in a long time.
I'm amazed at it's features and versatility, ease of use and battery life.
Simply installed the sim from my old Blackberry and it started up immediately and in use within 5 minutes.

I have a smart phone for my work and this does the same thing for 5% of the value.

Buy one; it's a No Brainer !!
