Excellent Smartwatch for my Moto Z Force!

After upgrading from a Galaxy S7 to the Moto Z Force I was sad to find that my old Samsung Gear Watch would not pair with my new phone. I looked long and hard for a suitable replacement because I became very accustomed to my wearable technology watch. After multiple attempts to download apps and pair my old watch with my new phone I was rightfully concerned that the new Samsung Gear S3 Frontier would be very time-consuming and tedious to pair with a Moto Z, but I was completely mistaken. Once the watch was powered up it prompted me to download the appropriate Samsung Gear app, enter my email address and a memorable password and after a few short very simple to follow steps the watch and my new phone are paired and they're working perfectly. I am extremely pleased with the fit and finish of my new S3 Frontier and how simple it was to mate it to a non Samsung phone. I had watched several YouTube videos of how to pair previous model Samsung SmartWatches to non Samsung or Galaxy phones and had anticipated a number of downloading and application steps two make the two communicate with each other but as I said before it was completely unnecessary and extremely simple. The watch is fairly expensive but well worth the money if you have become accustomed two wearable technology to stay up-to-date with what's going on with your phone. I look forward to getting more accustomed to using it and I know it will be a very enjoyable experience. The one sacrifice of not having a camera on the watch as I did with the previous one is a feature that I will miss but it is by no means a deal-breaker as I am completely satisfied with my purchase. I highly recommend this watch for anyone having a non Samsung phone as an alternative to purchasing one made by Motorola if you purchased a Moto Z as I did. It Is by no means a watch to wear well swimming or diving and maybe one day manufacturers will step up and make something that is truly water-resistant enough for that kind of use but the water and dust repellency is more than adequate for daily life and besides I have plenty of other watches for scuba diving and swimming so there again definitely no deal-breaker and this will be my watch a choice for daily wear and all outdoor activities. At almost three bones it is a very pricey investment but as I said before if you are a fan of wearable technology I'm sure you will enjoy it as much as I'm sure I will.Read full review...

Great watch, quality rating questionable.

Awesome smartwatch, heavy duty construction, tons of features. Even for being like 5 years old it functions like new and is impressive. Little bit of a pain to set up but otherwise it does great. Only complaint we have of this model of watch is that the actual watch is large, kind of cumbersome, though in all honesty this was a gift (for a lady) and she doesn't have the largest wrists.

As for the actual watched I received... there are alot more scratches on it that there should be for a *very good" rated used watch. Scratches on bezel and face of the watch, and the bands looked like someone had worn them for a year straight without any cleanings. If I knew it would have come like this I would have purchased a lower grade of this watch for a cheaper price. Would have returned it but as I stated it was a gift and by the anther one would have arrived it would have been to late. All things considered she seems happy with it, though I doubt she'd say otherwise if she wasn't.

Very good looking smartwatch. Love it

I previously had a Gear S2 sport, and I really wanted something that looked better for wearing to work and whatever. This is definitely all of that. It looks great, the screen size is perfect, and the Tizen OS is leaps and bounds ahead of Android wear. The full color always on display is very nice too. And the battery with the always on, on, lasts me about 40 hours. Gets me from wake up one day, to bedtime the next. The only real gripe I have with this watch, and the reason it is 4 starts instead of 5, is the fitness software. On this one piece, Android wear wins by a long-shot. Samsung health on the watch is fine, except for the exercise piece. Most of the selections, running, other workout, etc. do not use heart rate to calculate calories. I am using elliptical for my strength training so I have that... It seems like a no-brainer to have the most accurate method of determining calorie expenditure. Also, it needs tracking and rep counts for strength training and such. Google Fit Workout does this incredibly well. Anyway, software can always be improved! So, I'm hopeful for some upgrades. Either way, buy this watch! It is amazing!Read full review...

Solid Build, Beautiful Watch

Overall, I like the watch. I purchased a black metal strap, as the plastic one provided just didn't quite feel right. Personally, I never wore watches, so it's taking some time to get used to it in general.

It works great with my Note 4, never had an issue syncing, etc. The apps seem pretty limited right now, so if I had to do it again, I might just go with a watch that uses Google software. I really wanted something that could just stream my navigation through the watch, but that isn't the case here. I tried the stand-alone app once and it didn't work... just wouldn't stay connected, so the directions were useless. This was a main feature I was looking for and is the reason for 4-stars instead of 5-stars.

It's great for steps, quick texts, reading incoming messages (smaller ones) and so forth. I probably haven't began to use all the features yet, so there is much to learn. Overall it looks great and is a nice extension of my phone.

Great for when you don't want to carry your phone

This is really an amazing "Dick Tracy" wrist phone that works well with or without your full phone. The battery life is adequate for a full day's use with the watch face always on (at a dim setting) so you don't have to keep doing the wrist flick thing. (You canNOT do that for a normal day with the LG Sport Watch's less capable battery.) It's cool to be able to change watch faces, but this watches Samsung-only Tinzen software system has limited selection and configuration flexibility compared to full Android Wear compatible watches. I am not a serious athlete and have not spent much time trying to learn or setup the fitness functions, but they mostly seem to be marginally functional or accurate. It has trouble reading the pulse consistently. It randomly calculates, steps, calories, "Floors climbed", inactivity periods, etc. The Samsung pay does not happen to be compatible with my credit card. The voice command interpreter is pretty finicky. In summary, I love the watch/phone as mentioned above, but the rest of this technology has a lot of maturing to do.Read full review...

great but brand new

it is a great product. Watch faces are many in variety. But the tech inside this watch is still next gen stuff. So while it has many great features, many of them don't work real well. Like the draw to text. I try to draw an I and I get everything but. And it doesn't like it when you write diagonally. Sometimes it will tell you error. The voice command doesn't usually work even when connected to the internet and randomly parts of the touch screen will lock up on you. Don't get me wrong, this is a great product. But it is important that you know what you are getting. It will still take a little while for them to perfect the systems and tech in this watch.Read full review...

My first smart watch and it exceeded expectations.

So I totally love this watch. It has almost every single bell and whistle that you never even thought of having on a watch.

Pros: It does have tons of features which can fall under a Con as too overwhelming, but you can customize your watch for your specific needs so you're not bogged down with filler apps and settings.

Holds 4 gigs of storage which is perfect for a playlist of music. It works great on a workout routine as you can now leave your phone in the locker and not get distracted by it.

It's sporty and stylish which is a unique balance on fitting your every day activities. You can always change the band to a nice leather or metal link if you go somewhere classy and it looks amazing still.

Samsung pay is totally awesome. I like going to the store, purchasing my items and paying by lifting the watch up to the card reader and hearing it beep. Everyone around you thinks you're ahead in tech.

It really helps me stay active which is important to me right now, whether telling me to take a walk, do some torso twists, and keeping track of my activities.

The rotating bezel feels really good when I scroll through the menus. It has a nice dial and click feel that is strangely soothing when used.

Cons: Being that the watch had a behemoth of features, it needs a lot of space to hold it, so it is slightly heavy on the wrist. It's also a big face for putting your sleeve under it or over it can sometimes be problematic.

This is just my wrist, but I have an adjustment problem with the clasp since one hole leaves the watch too loose and the next hole is very tight. This can probably be resolved by using a different band.

The biggest con for me is the battery life. I understand that a watch this extreme need to utilize a lot of power to work on a daily basis, but the biggest conundrum for me is when to charge it. I like that the watch logs my sleep so thats typically out. I find that I charge it after a long day, just getting home and before I go to sleep when Im least active during my wake time. Also, the battery does take some time to charge so you have to really leave it alone for a while (or turn it completely off) to get the quickest charge.

Overall, absolutely love the watch, I love the look and the function of it and for the price point of $135, I got this for a steal.

Excellent Watch , comes with 2 size bands.

Had an S2gear for 2 yrs and the battery just couldn't take a GOOD charge with all the updateings. It's christmas time so I treated myself. Great deal from seller and also a coupon from EBAY. The watch is a little larger, but I have gotten used to it. Performs well, was easy to set up, download the app first on your phone, then from then on it's easy. Goto YouTube and check out some of the unboxing and features to help you. Alot of good tips.

I like making my own watchfaces. I suggest "FACER". TO begin with, then move up to the Samsung Watch Developer. Watch Developer is a little tricky setting up, but after creating an account with Samsung, you are good to go.
I am NOT a heavy user of alot of the features, so I get around 80-85 hours a charge so far. I would recomend this product

Best watch I've had so far...

This watch seems kinda bulky and slightly heavy. However, it has a lot of great features it looks good, people think it's a regular watch, the screen size makes it a little easier to see things. The watch band is great the strap never seems to come undone which to me is a great bonus. The rotating of the bezel is an awesome convenient feature. The S Voice is a pretty cool feature I found a great watchface that has a quick access to it and tells me what I need to know. The only thing I wish is that there is a third button in the middle to where when you rotate the bezel to select stuff is that there was an okay button to activate what you have selected. It would also be great if you could set the buttons to quick launch stuff. Anyways all in all its great and I highly recommend it to people. Read full review...

Nice watch, small bands.

First I want to say that, although my wrists might be a little larger than average, they're certainly not big. I was looking forward to using the rubber watchband that came with the watch, however the band was at least 1/2" too small for my wrist. My Gear S2 came with a leather strap that fit me just fine except that leather picks up dirt and I work with my hands so I replaced it with a metal wristband. I also had to replace the rubber strap on the S3 with a metal band due to the small size. Ok, rant over.
As far as operation is concerned, I like the look and feel of the watch. I've always been a watch guy and I waited until the S2 to buy my first smartwatch because I didn't like the non-watch look. This S3 Frontier follows that same form. This thing looks and feels like a decent quality piece of wrist jewelry. The weight is good and the fit and finish are in line with it's price point. The battery lasts me two days of moderate use where my S2 had to be charged every night. I'm still getting used to the way the apps work on the new watch. I had the S2 for two years and I've only been wearing the S3 for about a week but I'm settling into it. Overall a great watch that comes with too small of a band.

Used but works great.

When I saw “Open Box” I assumed that it was a demo watch returned from a store. However it was a rather well used watch with the band showing repeated wear. Lucky for me the band can be replaced.

The watch worked perfectly and as my first smart watch, the S-3 was a good choice. Using it with an LG phone gives it some limitations but not enough to break the deal.

The watch came from stateside and this had a definite influence on my choice of vendors.

I have ordered a couple of new bands so the one scratch on the bezel makes no difference.
