Good Sound BUT No subwoofer!
The soundbar itself is not bad, if NEW! and you are looking for a good quality sound from Samsung but on the lower end of the quality scale. I was informed this version had an integrated subwoofer, but after checking with Samsung they confirmed that the subwoofer is included on the more expensive models. So if you dont want or expect an integrated subwoofer then this may be a good option. Always good to shop around too, this version is being sold at a very cheap price brand new online from BT, similar in price to those selling ones classed as Shop Display Stock!. So all in all, very good value if you opt for a brand new one at the great online prices, but if you want a subwoofer integrated this item is not for you.Read full review

Samsung sound bar HW-MS550
Easy to connect by hdm1 arc, bluetooth or optical lead. I used the hdmi arc and it functioned correctly straight away, the tv sound was automatically switched off and the soundbar volume worked off the tv remote. The inbuilt woofers are not that effective and no substitute for a separate sub woofer,.however, the matching Samsung one is dearer than the sound bar and there is no way to connect any other subwoofer.
Sound is reasonable and adjustable. have not connected any additional surround speakers which are available as an extra but are also very expensive.
Happy with the set up but would buy a different one with a sub woofer package if I needed to buy again.Read full review

Setting up.
It takes a lot of trying different inputs and settings. Bit in the end produces a very clear sound for the TV.
Playing music from a mobile device needs a good music player, eg Poweramp, to get the best from it.
For blockbuster movies and deep bass music, it might benefit from the expensive sub woofer.Read full review

Decent quality , not the most explosive bass
It’s a really nice design. The quality is decent once you have tweaked the settings correctly. It is a little low on bass. I had a subwoofer before and it’s muvh more booming. But that does not equal quality. It has good surround qualities. You can also add the wireless rear speakers at a future date. It’s a good platform. The 650 version is better, but it’s pricy.
