Clip Jam 8 gb, Good 4 Stars

Smaller Than I Expected, But Great Sound !!!
Volume Over-ride is a Pain to get full Volume (ear protection program ) Goodish EQ. Adjustment.
EarPhones Supplied were a bit poor IMO, I am some others instead.
Easy transfer of mp.3 files
Nice when plugged into Home Stereo System. Good Quality Sound after overriding dreaded ear protection volume control.
Holds Excellent Charge.
Plenty of Internal storage Space.
Well Worth A £20+ Price Tag.

I would imagine this little unit would be great for outdoor runners etc. while training.

Sandisk is a reliable make, I swear by there thumb drives and have been using these for 16+ years.

Not as good as Sansa Clip+, but much better than the present alternatives

It's a good mp3 player soundwise and more, just not as practical as the "old" Clip+. On the Clip+ the music on the MicroSD card and on the player itself would appear in one list. Not on the Jam. On Clip+ I could choose an artist and it would play through all albums from this artist. On Jam I have to put everything on the MicroSD card (since the files don't merge into one list) and play from Folder View, and then I have to go back to the menu and choose next album every time one album is finished.
When I add new music, it doesn't show up alphabetically but in the order the music was uploaded, so I have to delete everything and transfer everything with the new files to get them in alphabetical order.
Another annoying thing about Jam is that it makes a short fade-in on every track, so you never get a kickoff start on any song.
Two things are better with Jam: Battery life and that it never freezes (Clip+ did that occasionally).
It also seems like all the similar mp3 players (the Chinese ones) have 5 times more impractical menus and functions than this one, so I guess it's the best you can get in this price class and size these days.

Great quality, sound and batt life.

For the price what do you want?
I use mine in my car and it's more than adequate. If you load it with quality MP3's 320kbps or flac's you will not be dissapointed.

Easy to use and the battery life seems very good i have charged mine once and have used it everyday about 2 hours a day and is still looking good with the battery only dropped to half. i would say about 12 hours of on off listening,so it holds its charge well.

All in all for the price, this is about as good as it gets, i have heard more expensive mp3 players and if there is a difference in quality i cant hear it.
If you want a very small, light yet capable mp3 player, then you wont go far wrong with this little one.

Sandisk clip jam

Unlike many MP3 players on the market this player has a playlist function that actually works which is why I bought this in the first place. I'm so sick and tired with not having this function on my other mp3 players, it's a tad annoying. The controls are a bit fiddly and the level of sound is not as high as my other players. Even on full volume some of my albums are quiet which means I have to alter the files to match the louder ones. Battery life is good but I can't comment on the headphones because I use a specific brand.Read full review...

Sandisk clip jam review

My time with this product has been perfect for what I need it for. The auxiliary port hasn't failed like phones do and the quality is surprisingly (for the price) crystal clear. Super easy to use with a computer to transfer songs and also a very compact size making it a leisurely breeze to carry around with you wherever you go. Top 10/10 product, can't go wrong. Seriously. Just get one.Read full review...

Excellent value, lightweight with good features.

Perfect replacement for my old iPod. Easy to configure and add my music tracks too. Did not expect that much at the price but I am very pleased with my purchase.

great player but doubts about battery

bought to replace a old tried and tested phillips music player for the gym. nice and light, high storage capacity and also great sound. also has a shuffle for all the albums on it which is good. my only gripe is if i leave it in my bag for a few days when i go to use it the battery is dead. my old one would be at the same power that i left it on. not sure if it is turning itself on while in my bag which could be the case as the on/off button is right at the front of the player or just not keeping a charge for long enough. should have 18hrs play from afull charge but this has not been the case so far. don't get me wrong would probably buy again but need to make sure i charge it before use which is not always practicleRead full review...

A step down from the previous version

I guess if this was the only mp3 player I'd ever owned, I'd be happy with it, but after the older, 2GB version, it seems to have downgraded all its features to something slightly worse:

1) The overall casing just feels lightweight and flimsy.
2) Having the power button on the front means it keeps turning off in my pocket or when I'm carrying it with a handful of other things
3) Moving the power button has also lost the 'lock' feature, so again while it's in my pocket or if I nudge it wrong it skips a track
4) Sound level with the supplied headphones is really appalling - very, very quiet. With my regular headphones it's OK, but I have to turn it way above the level at which it is locked to be able to hear even music while I'm out and about, let alone podcasts/spoken word.
5) The record function seems to have been lost (if it's there I can't find it), which was one of the huge bonuses of the old model
6) Setting shuffle on one playlist sets it across the whole device. I want my albums to play in the order they were designed in, but don't really want to have to play all my music in the same order every day.

Haven't tried putting an audiobook on there yet. Who knows what weird quirks that will have.

Somewhat disappointed.

A mystery

Very cheap and simple option, just slide in a memory card and drag & drop music files to the player. Although sound quality is awful thru the tiny headphones supplied.

For some unknown reason, my one will only play the first few songs and nothing else - despite everything being correctly loaded onto the memory card. So, not too good really. Waste of money but thankfully very cheap.Read full review...

Exactly what I was looking for

Neat, compact, light - excellent little device for use when at the gym or running:
- Loads of space for songs plus expansion with micro memory card
- Compact display but shows you what you need to see - battery state, song title, etc.
- Battery seems to last for hours!
- Create playlists from a PC (need to know the file structure but that's easy)
Very pleased, does exactly what I want!
