Early Eliot

If you've read George Eliots later novels before Scenes Of Clerical Life (Her first) as I've done then it's difficult to fully appreciate it. An excellent novel it most definitely is but to compare it to Her later work isn't easy.
The foundation of an excellent writer is obvious as these days She is considered by some as the greatest of all English novelists. Well worth reading.
