Peugeot 207 gti and Seafoam

Used seafoam in my 08 Peugeot 207 gti which was throwing up a few codes, and the turbo had ceased working, I suspected a significant build up of carbon and did a little research and decided to add Seafoam (3/4 of a bottle) to my petrol tank (1/4 full) and put the remainder in the engine oil. Took it out for a drive and after about 10 miles the Engine Warning Light came on so nursed it home and then plugged in my scanner, read and cleared the codes (the engine warning light was an O2 sensor) then took the car out again and the difference was instantly noticeable and is improving each time I drive it, no codes have returned.
I suspect the car has been fuelled with cheaper petrol and only done the school run / shopping etc and never given a good "run". If you buy a second hand car, and it has performance issues TRY THIS FIRST it's potentially saved me a couple of thousand on parts that didn't need replacing, garage fees and also diagnostics that don't identify carbon build up in "modern" cars.Read full review...

2 Litre HDI Diesel Citroen, 18 years old 171000 miles

Engine didnt seem to like being in top gear at lower speeds and was noticeably lumpy so was thinking perhaps new timing belt..

Added a can of SeaFoam to half tank of diesel, noticeably quieter, pulling quicker, and back to around 50 miles per gallon. The lumpy juddery behaviour totally gone, will keep an eye on it though as the symptom was in cold weather.

Added a can to flush power steering motor and will be getting another to treat the oil and flush the injectors when I change the fuel filter.

cracking stuff

this stuff's getting rave reviews all over the internet. I heard about it from a bike forum that I'm a member of, knowing that I had an old XBR500 Honda to get running again, I thought I'd give it a try. the bike hadn't been started for at least 18 months, it had a small amount of fuel festering in the bottom of the tank but at least I had the sense to drain the float bowl.
so I grabbed what came to hand, a can with a bit of last years lawn mower petrol in it and carefully measured (all right, I guessed and slopped a bit in) some sea foam in and gave it a shake. tipped it into the bikes tank and shook again.
started kicking it over and on kick number 8 I got a brief run, kick number 9 nothing, then kick number 10 she popped into life and ran like she'd never been laid up.
