My hard drive of choice for several years, but Seagate DiscWizard and/or Windows10 is creating formatting/disk copy problems

I've bought 30-40 of these hard drives for computer builds because they were reliable, but also because Seagate DiscWizard transfer software (free for use if one drive is a Seagate) was easy to use and dependable to copy my standard hard drive load to an empty drive. In the last year it appears that either updates to Seagate DiscWizard or Windows 10 was making it impossible to copy my standard computer build load onto these or any other drives. I've tried a couple of other than Seagate drive brands and had issues with them too, so the problem may be Windows and not Seagate DiscWizard or Seagate drives. I've also tried other transfer software and had similar issues. Too bad, because I love building desktops but these issues have caused me to stop. Whatever happened to "user-friendly" software and hardware. Too many "bells and whistles" that most of us don't want or need now complicate our lives, our computers, our automobiles, our cell phones, our home appliances, etc.Read full review

Ok, these drives were a great value for the $$$

I'm building a dedicated DAW and needed some storage drives for it. I consider Seagate to be the most reliable for this. So these were a great solution for my needs. There's no bad sectors and they are very quiet for an HDD. And they show as an apple drive so that's actually not a bad thing since I plan on doing a triple boot Hackintosh/Linux/Windows. I always buy Seagate for over 20 years

I have found that Seagate not only gives great performance but lasts a long time, The product I purchased was in like new condition. Installed and was Cloned from the previous drive in 14 mins and was up and running flawlessly. Cloning means I made an exact copy of another drive to this one and did not loose any programs, photos or documents including my Windows Operating system. it booted right up as if the hard drive had not been replaced. I went from a 500 gb to a 1 TB hard drive As usual very happy with Seagate products I have 2 desktops and a 17" laptop computer and all have Seagate drives. Well I was put off once on buying seagate drives when I had purchased one that was nothing but a headache, worked great for storage but not so well hosting an OS, kept giving me blue screens of death when running any OS from that drive, but with my recent purchase of this model HDD I have not had any issues, everything has been fast and moving along really smoothly.
