Put it to work right away! Hooked it up to a USB to Sata Cable/adaptor. Partitioned it for 2 drives. I Use 1 to back up my files such as: Music, Docs. Vids, Recipes(collected over 7 years)and Pics. The second partition I use for my + the wife's 4 computers storing: System Images + Drivers + OS ISO's. Still have a lot of room for more. Works with windows 7Ultimate Pro and Home(32bit and 64bit), and Windows 10 Pro and Home(both 32 and 64 bit versions). Works on an AMD Athlon machine, and my Pentium D Quad boot computer(so I suppose it should work with almost anything). Seagate has always been good.

These Drive's looks new to me. I saw a post that stated his wasn't but both of mine were.

You will need to format these drives for your system. They do not come formatted, at least mine were not already setup as NTFS prior to installing in my laptop. Not that this is a big problem. If your not savy about how to do it just go to google and do a search. In a couple clicks you'll find out all you need to know. I thought these were a decent bargin for the price.
