Taps without a tap wrench are useless

Whilst the taps seem to be of good quality, the wrench in the kit is not only far too small, mine stripped its threads in the casting the first time I used it. That was tapping at 6mm wether it would even turn a 12mm is doubtfull.Read full review

The taps and dies are of good quality but, as others have said, the die holder and handles are not really strong enough for the larger sizes of dies; some of the screws have stripped the thread which isn’t great but for occasional diy use they’re ok.Read full review

Really good, high quality set.

Really good set, very high quality and well worth the price. I had to drill out the retaining screws on my MG disc brakes and the 6 mm taps worked a treat cleaning up the threads afterwards.

Very good quality set with the correct, taper, intermediate and finishing taps of each size and the split dies allow for easier threading of blank rod by adjusting the dies, something which is all but impossible with the non-split (chaser) dies on other sets. 6 common metric thread sizes and a screw pitch gauge to boot.Read full review
