Good for the money
These are generally well made and having a set of three rather than two makes things seem a little more safe. I abused my set quite a bit by using them to help press in bushings as well as their intended purpose and they took it no issues. My only complaint is that they have standard threads, it would be nice to have an acme thread.Read full review

3 piece with locking collars makes all the difference. EXCELLENT FOR HOME MECHANICS.
after using the traditional two piece design and having one of the clamps slipping off on a renault clio mk2 spring when it was almost under full compression. i was a little hesitant buying these and was going to buy a hydraulic floor mounted one which really makes no sense when i only change springs on family cars and not for a living. anyway bought this tool from sealey as opposed to the clarke one glad i did, this one is actually rated to 1650kg where as clarke is 1500kg. this sealey compressor made easy work changing the other spring on my clio. no having to go to garage and and pay a tenner or so like last time due to using the dodgy 2 peice design. i can honestly say these locking collars and the fact they are three peice makes the job so much less dangerous. not as quick as a floor mounted professional compressor, but these do the job with no fear factor. locking collars make all the difference :) defo a good buy for home mechanics.Read full review

Good quality spring compressors
Having three clamps is an advantage as they compress the spring evenly and make removal of the top nut less of a problem, the safety hooks work well and provide that extra bit of security.
