a fair little pillar drill for the price, small and compact.

The graded one had a slight imperfection (that i struggled to see initially) in one of the castings which if you can ignore is perfectly good and a good saving on the full retail price. The self assembly is easy but fiddly and the hex bolt key is included but the spanner to bolt the pillar on is not (three bolts). The drill guard does not come put together and is not obvious that the clear plastic goes INSIDE the red part, and requires you to assign three TINY cross head screws that come mounted in the plastic. The chuck you have to press on yourself as the instructions and it requires more pressure than you think as first time i tried drilling in an old bit of wood it came loose did it again and it has been fine since. the chuck is by key and there SHOULD be a warning to always remove the key before turning on the drill in my opinion. The unit comes covered in lots of storage oil and it smells quite strong out of the box but the smell does go off after a few days. When you register with sealey use the main unit code BUT without the V2 xxx at the end as there are lots of codes and these are all accessories with the V2 and other numbers. Time will tell but it looks to be a bit of equipment i won't use often but extremely useful when i need it, and a £50 saving is appealing as graded. The only thing that caught me out was there is a safety switch in the belt cover that if its not tapped shut all over the drill won't turn on which is a great feature.Read full review...

Very good value

Overall this is excellent for the price. I'm a furniture maker and carpenter, and will only use this for drilling thin widths of timber for framework. Perfectly adequate for this purpose. Very easy to set up, just 10 mins. I imagine it wouldn't be fit for drilling metal all day, but it's a hobby pillar, so it's not supposed to.Read full review...

Jobs A Gud Un !!

Assembly was easy enough, the build quality is like industrial standard (apart from the plastic guard), once I had set it up and the table nipped up I was boring straight holes in mild steel 10 mm thick, straight as a die with no scoring in the holes smooth as silk, well worth the money.
