Very good value

Needed replacement stones for my old SnapOn arbours, but bought this kit instead. Comprehensive and a lovely price. Need hones when working on old motors, and these work as well as any. Pleased.

Insubstantial rubbish

When I unwrapped this by first impressions weren't good. It is flimsy and the hones are held on with split pins. That in itself might be OK if they were fitted and left in place but then the tool can't be stored in its box. I then realised that there were no operating or health and safety instructions. I contacted Sealey customer services. There reply was "this is a professional tool and a degree of competence is assumed". Two points - as a professional tool it would last about a week, secondly if this is what can be expected from Sealey products and from Sealey Customer Services, they have insured that they will not sell to me in future.

It is designed for HONING cylinders not DE-GLAZZING
It can be used for deglazing but you need to carefully stroke it up and down the bore ONLY 3-4 times. Any more and it takes too much material off!Read full review...

used it on my 2-stroke cylinder and it did a nice job, saved me taking it to a shop and having to pay them.

Works well

This tool does exactly what it is intended to do; I used it to hone a vintage motorcycle cylinder and it did the job effectively and quickly.
It is reasonable quality and will stand up to the occasional use that I will be giving it, but I do not think it would last long in daily use; saying that, it is cheap enough to replace when worn out.
I also tried it in a clutch master cylinder and it removed scoring and light rust pitting very effectively.
One tip when using:- keep the drill speed low and use plenty of lubrication on the stones as this will give a better finish and greatly increase the life of the tool.Read full review...

Bit expensive, flimsy
