22.5 to 7.5mm zoom (eg 44x to 133x using a 1000mm scope)

This is a great lens for a beginner as it covers a good range and the zoom function means you do not have to swap lenses over an try to re-locate what you are looking at. The focus does change as you zoom so that has to be refocused, but, far easier than swapping lenses over.

The lens did have to be mounted about 6mm out of the end of the focuser tube on my Newtonian to get the 7.5mm to focus. I first move the lens out and clamped it ot the tip then I used a tube extender, though, a barlow with the barlow lens un-screwed would do the same. This may not be a problem on a refractor or a Schmidt Cassegrain etc. with a longer focuser

Looking at the moon and stars there is some chromic abrasion, but, I have used lenses costing twice as much with the same level of abrasion. It split Mizar into it's double star of Mizar A and Mizar B

So get this lens and by the time you have out grow it you will know what scope and lenses you will want to get nextRead full review

Surprisingly good value

I've never used a zoom lens before, but no end of times I've set my telescope looking at a planet and then carefully switched lenses to a higher power, fiddled with focusing until I could see the telescope had moved - frustration!
This is the answer. Using a low power (22mm) centre the object you want to observe and gradually zoom in on it, right up to maximum magnification (7mm).
This lens has good optics, the focus remains spot on over the zoom range - another problem solved.
The overall feel and quality of this eyepiece is very good and for the price is excellent.

Couldn't believe my eyes

When I opened the plastic case(which in its self was a sturdy piece of kit) and looked at the eye piece for the first time. I really wasn't expecting much in the way of build quality, but I was very impressed in all areas. The eyepiece feels of good quality and very well made, its zoom is smooth and very efficient. To find what you're looking for in the night sky and then being able to zoom in on nebula's with the same eyepiece instead of swapping out a few and re-entering a couple of times. This also means saving pocket space if your away from home Astro surfing. All in all this eyepiece is a very good useful item and I'd say a must have really if you want to save time,effort and money.. THANKYOU SEBENRead full review

A Great Value Must Have.

This zoom telescope eyepiece is very good quality and well manufactured. It comes in a solid plastic container and when removed it felt tactile and smooth to operate, with no backlash noticeable. I found it saves a lot of time usually spent on swapping eyepieces and refocusing, and the images were clear and precise, which I really liked.
