Amazing Features for the price.

This watch is everything I hoped it would be. Look what you get: a tried and tested ultra reliable in-house movement, (hacking and hand windable) nice display back so you can admire it, and a case to die for. The case is a mixture of brushed and polished steel, with the brushed sections surrounding the dial and covering the strap lugs. These are not applied sections, but sculpted into the steel of the case. The deep black dial and applied batons are beautiful, and the date is tastefully framed in steel. The sword-shaped hands, and the second hand with an open loop at its base are the final touch. The glass is sapphire, and the crown bears the Seiko "S", which looks somewhat snake-like. The oyster style bracelet is comfortable, though if you have to re-size it yourself, be aware that the link-pins have a tiny steel shim at either end which falls off when you remove the pins. They are about 1mm wide and maybe 3mm in length, so be careful to catch them when you take out a pin. If someone told me this was a Grand Seiko, I would believe them. Firms like Rolex could learn a lot in terms of case-design from this watch. I've owned two Rolex models, and this watch is more satisfying to look at than either of them. If you like mechanical watches with a classic look, buy one. You won't be disappointed.Read full review...

High quality and good looking watch

The watch is on the smaller size and not in trend with today ''standards'' of 42+ mm. It has a high quality finish and wears very comfortable at wrist, it has very good legibility of hands and keeps great time, in my case less than 5 seconds fast/day which I think is great. The accuracy of this movement is dependable of wear time, the much time on the wrist the more accurate the watch will be. The bracelet can be adjusted very easy despite having the pin and collar system. You can wear it as a dress watch or as a sport watch. It is an all day long watch. I recommend it.Read full review...

SARB033

Watch is very good value for the money. The dial is a little on the small side, but then I knew that before I purchased the watch. This is the fifth JDM Seiko I have purchased with the very reliable 6R15C movement over the years. This particular watch is running at plus 8 seconds per WEEK!!!! The finish and build quality is good for this price range of watch. It's not in the same league as my Swiss watches but then this is reflected in the price. The reason I mention this is because some reviews I have read on this watch in the past, actually compare this watch with higher end Swiss watches. No, No, No!!!...A Grand Seiko and Rolex, Omega yes. The bracelet on this watch is hard to adjust to my wrist size, if I remove 1 link it's to tight and loose if I leave it on. The micro adjustment is of little help. All in all this is a good purchase for the price.Read full review...

Excellent delivery, excellent

Ordered this watch after reading and watching loads of positive reviews. Its a JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) so couldn't see it in the metal before ordering but haven't been disappointed, the watch itself is excellent. The metal bracelet lets it down a little and I threw it onto a Hadley Roma leather strap which I think suits it better, but that's my personal preference.

Delivery and price were excellent, it arrived a full week before the earliest promised delivery date.

The model is being discontinued so grab one while you can!

Worth more than the price tag

Beautiful watch piece, classic dial design with pleasing details you find as time goes on. Have been monitoring its time accuracy over the past 2 weeks, has kept average +7 sec/day. This watch is a strap matching wonder, works well with leather, perlon and NATO. For the price, for the Seiko history the SARB033 is well worth your money and time.Read full review...

Absolute quality and affordable!!

After loads of research, I took the plunge and went for the Sarb033. Having worn a lot bigger watches in the past, I wanted a watch that had a smaller profile on my wrist.
I originally started looking at watches that cost a lot of money, until I heard about this little treasure. It's well respected amongst the watch collector communities, even those professionals that own watches you could only dream of owning.
My watch arrived with the updated 6R15D movement in, which was great. Its very neat and classy on the wrist and it has the hacking function that allows you to stop the second hand for precision. The links are easy to remove and add, so long as you purchase a watch strap adjuster and take your time. The pins are the pin and collar type.
The strap doesn't have a great amount of adjustment possibilities but I've been quite lucky and mine fits fine, especially when my wrist warms up. Even though I originally bought this to swap out the strap for a leather one, I actually really like the bracelet.
One slight negative is the face is a magnet for finger prints and other bits of dust compared to my other watches, but it's a very small negative. Oh and the lume isn't going to wow you but it works.
Overall, at the price that this cost and the fact that it's discontinued, I would grab one straight away and add it to your collection. It feels great on the wrist and looks so much more expensive.

Timeless Timekeeping

Just a quality “go to” watch that is aesthetically “right”. I love that it has withstood the onslaught of the giant watch phase, and has stuck steadfastly to a size that fits most wrists, and is perfectly legible in normal daylight.
Although easiest to pigeonhole as a “dress” watch, it would be just as effective as an “all day, every day” watch, thus it appeals to both the non collector and the collector alike.
Mechanical automatics have enjoyed a resurgence in recent years, and it’s no wonder when movements are now so well sorted and dependable.
While a watch like this will never grow in value, it offers the wearer years and years of dependable service, and classic good looks that will never appear outdated at a price point that is completely affordable. This alongside my Orient Star Classic with a white sunburst face now covers all of my dress watch needs and wants for an outlay off less than £500. That’s not too outrageous for two such beautiful timepieces.
There have been rumours that Seiko are planning to drop this classic home market watch. For the life of me, I can’t imagine why. It’s a bit like a Porsche 911 shape, or a Coca Cola bottle. Trying to change either would be a disastrous move, and I would put the Seiko SARB033 in the same bracket. It’s damn near perfect, so leave it alone, and carry on making it. It’s a proper gem of a watch.

Classic, affordable understated style.

Lovely watch, looks great on any strap. Can really change the style with different straps if you invest in a decent springbar tool (Bergeon would be my recommendation).
