The fuel of childhood dreams
Any red blooded kid growing up in the 60's knew about Estes Rockets and all the great kits they had, and the Mars Lander was one of the most iconic models they created. Not only did it look cool, but with careful construction it would look realistic and fly extremely well. This was the nostalgia of the golden age of looking towards a brighter and better future which is hard to find these days. But this kit brings it all back in spades, and thoughts of the 65 World's Fair, House and Cars of the future, all come flooding back. Construction is fiddly and you do need some modeling skills to make it look spectacular, but the effort will be worth it. Read full review

Top 5
It was a blast putting this thing together after wanting it for over 40 years. One serious engineering flaw. Those rubber bands making the legs work will break after a short while from age and it's impossible to replace them.Read full review

Great materials and detail
This is a remake of the original Mars Lander made by Estes years ago. I built one of those as a kid. The Semroc remake is very much like the original. Fun build.

Nice model--will have to see if it shoots well (not expecting much but it has always looked cool) gob
