I am an audiophile... have been for many many years. Over the years, I have owned many different brands and quality of headphones, but these "cans" are a cut above the rest. They are comfortable and create a sound stage that has to be heard to be believed. If you don't listen to music critically and seriously, then spend your money on a run-of-the-mill set of headphones. If you are a critical listener and if you are fortunate enough to have a high-end playback system, then you will find that the HD800S headphones are worth the hefty price tag. Hi resolution headphones.

Excellent sound. I did have to get Dekoni pads to make them more comfortable. The pads also move the drivers farther away reducing but not eliminating listening fatigue. The listening experience overall was better than everything except Lindsol goldplanar GL 2000 double magnet.Read full review

Sunning resolution and clarity. Sound unlike any other I’ve heard. Only on certain recordings bass can seem no as filled out. Vocals can also seem not as present as I would sometimes prefer, but again only on certain recordings. Other than that I have no complaints. Exceeded my expectations

I’m a real fan of the Sennheiser sound and the detail and sound stage of the 800S are amazing. I actually changed the pads which gave them a minor bass elevation but mostly smoothed out the sound signature through out the spectrum to my ear.
