Best value pickups ever. Look no further if you want to upgrade your strat guitar!
I wanted to upgrade my strat with Alnico5 magnet pickups. I found several videos about them and decided to put them into my guitar. I made a good choice. Night and day the difference in tone and volume also compared to old ceramic ones. The neck and the neck + middle, middle + bridge sound very fender like, Personaly i prefer these because these are not usual ones. Mids are better and highs... OMG After the upgrade i have to use the tonepots. Really bright and natural sound. If you look for upgrade but you dont want to invest 200$ for a single set of alnico5s these one is your choice!!Read full review...

Cheap alnicos for Strat
I put them in a Korean CN Squier Strat with an updated high-quality loom (Alpha full size audio pots A250K, Sprague Orange drop capacitor 600V, 0.022uF) but found them rather lifeless in comparison to stock single coils on my Fender Player Strat and the stock Wilkinson alnicos on my Vintage V6 strat. I always try to leave feedback on purchased items, but this is a first review. I discovered Vanson recently, upgrading some older parts etc. and have found the parts very good for the price. I put these pups into a Partscaster I've put together, and wanted something vintage sounding, didn't really expect them to be this good and authentic sounding!!!! You can go from sparkling bright, classic glassy strat tones to Hendrix like overdrive while still retaining the pickups character, they really are amazing value when you dial in your tone, really nail that spanky sound, but retain that woodiness in the background. They wont cover a modern high gain sound as good as other pups, but if you are after an authentic vintage sound, I've not found anything remotely comparable without spending a LOT more money. Excellent value
I got these as a slight upgrade to project guitar which was black with a humbucker at the bridge, so wanted something more standard Strat with a vintage look.
Nice and crisp sounds and looks the part.
Only a cheap Hohner guitar from the 80s but sounds really nice again.
The only thing I struggled with was finding matching ivory control knobs. Vanson didn't stock them at the time so sourced them elsewhere and they're not a perfect match, but that's nothing against the pickups.Read full review...
