This unknown in the UK brand, Severin, is German. It is used by a major supplier of products to the hospitality trade. Since I had been disappointed by a well-known British brand previously, why not give the Germans, with their reputation for high quality engineering, a chance? Hasn't disappointed so far. Not suitable for hand made, or bread maker bread.
I bought it as a single, long slot toaster. The problem is that it is not designed for bread other than standard loaf sized slices. I make my own bread, both by hand, and using a Panasonic bread maker. I can't get two slices in at the same time, as well as slots also not being deep enough, so that the top of slice remains untoasted. An excellent replacement
