this pickup screams rock N roll

got this in a bridge of strat for instant 80's rock & metal sound.
its a good all rounder pup and can fit so much different genres, but really shines
in old school heavy metal, 80's hair metal, hard rock and punk. for heavier styles
there are better pups out there.
can be horribly bright and ice picky in some guitars - if you have 500k pots, replacing the pots to 250k works wonders.Read full review

It has the sound you think of when you think rock guitar tone

I've previously had an EMG81 and DiMarzio Dominion in the bridge of my ESP Eclipse II. I found the EMG to be more gainy and scooped than I wanted, while the Dominion had a huge upper mid spike and crazy tight bottom end (unpleasantly so in terms of playing feel). While I sometimes miss a bit of that cutting upper midrange, this JB just has that wonderfully balanced sound and feel that's easy to play and sounds right. It's incredibly well rounded and has a great response that's neither too tight nor too loose. I find myself setting my amp and overdrive right at noon, with no need to compensate for anything. Got It Right First Time

Today there are more Pick-up choices than hairs on your head and im sure many are good, but that wasn't the case when the TB-4 JB first came out. It hit the music waves with a fury and hasn't let up since. The reason for that is - its good real good great even, they got it right the first time. Because it gives you power but clarity definition handles pedals well or fine on its own, it sounds good to the ear no matter what rig/axe or even guitar ;:>) you use it with, I recommend it highly and im not very good, lol but the pup does fine!Read full review

High Output pickups don't get any better or simpler....

Overall the best High Output pickup in the market with enough tonal versatility for a lot of styles. Whether you play Jazz or blues to Death or Black Metal. Really nothing bad to say. There's a reason this is standard equipment in a lot of heavy metal-based guitars. I have this installed on my Jackson Kelly and it rocks!
