An excellent crime drama with two wonderful actors.

An excellent movie about a young girl and her uncle who she loves very much. She begins to hear thing about him by various individuals including the local police. She becomes very upset.

He is with them on a vacation but lives elsewhere in the United States where he is being investigated for being a killer of elderly women who have lost their husbands. He appears to think, in his delusional thought processes that he is doing a favor to them and society at large.

I recommend this to all who like mysteries and murderers.

If you buy this, you will like it. Joseph Cotton and Theresa Wright were both wonderful in their roles.

Shadow of a Doubt

Engrossing and fun to watch. Hume Cronyn is a very young man in this one and Joseph Cotten is a murderous cynical uncle that is named after him.
Cotten does his bang up job and Teresa Wright is great as his niece.macdonald Carey is her love interest chasing Uncle Charlie. He is a serial killer killing wealthy widows whom he feels are silly disrespectful women living high on their late husbands hard work. Henry Travers and Patricia Collinge are Supurb as support cast.Read full review...

Shadow of a Doubt - 1943 - Alfred Hitchcock

The 1943 classic Alfred Hitchcock movie. Filmed in New Jersey and Santa Rosa, California, it was nominated for a 1944 Oscar for Best Writing.

Plot summary:
The Newton family lead a quiet life in the North California town of Santa Rosa. The Newton's eldest daughter, 'young Charlie', decides that things need brightening up and resolves to contact her Uncle Charlie (after whom she is named) and invite him to stay. On arrival at the telegraph office she discovers he is already on his way. However, Uncle Charlie is being pursued by a couple of detectives who suspect him of being "The Merry Widow Murderer", an evil strangler wanted in connection with the deaths of several rich East coast widows.Read full review...

I heard that Shadow of a Doubt was Hitchcock's favorite of his classic films. It holds up well even after all these years.

This video is in excellent condition--like new. And a great savings compared to other offers of the same title. And who doesn't have an extra case handy.

Don't you doubt it...

Doesn't get much play among the Hitchcock mentions but in the top three in my opinion...Psycho and North by Northwest territory. If you haven't set aside some time for a touch of evil among a truly happy and loving family, do your self a favor.Read full review...

This was a really spooky movie. I liked the actors in the movie, Alfred Hitchcock's daughter was great. This was a really good suspense movie. I don't like all of Hitchcock's movies, but this movie was a notable exception.Read full review...

Shadow of a Doubt

Rumor has it that Alfred Hitchcock's greatest film was "Shadow of a Doubt" and why shouldn't it. It had star quality performances by Teresa Wright and Joseph Cotten, who was superb as Uncle Charlie. A prime example of film noir and a classic Hitchcock thriller. Highly recommend!!!!Read full review...
