Prices are coming down on 10-speed stuff
I have 4 Shimano bikes, 3 of them are 10-speed. I've had 6 or 8 different cassettes in the last few years. Shimano works great.
Only criticism: They actually wear out. One chain lasts me approximately 2,500 miles, a cassettle three times that long. When they start skipping under heavy load it's time to get a new one.
I've settled on the 12-25 for most of my riding; your mileage may vary. I don't feel I need the 11-cog or anything bigger than the 25, so this is the cog set for me.Read full review

Shimano is always top notch and reliable
Ultegra is the poor mans Dura Ace. Quite frankly the two are indistinguishable when it comes to performance and longevity. Always have relied on Ultegra for dependable performance and ease of replacement, adjustment and repair.
